Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 209

Charlotte's heart was filled with doubt about Morgan.

"Mom, don't listen to Hayden's nonsense! He must be jealous of how good we are to Morgan, so he said those things to make us question him!" Lily quickly explained.

"Yes, Lily is right!" Anna immediately nodded.

"Lily is really sharp. She quickly figured out Hayden's intention!" Julia said. She breathed a sigh of relief, her face bright with a smile. She couldn't help but ruffle Lily's head, feeling truly reassured.

Great! They had finally found a way to brush the situation aside!

Lily was quick-witted indeed!

But these words didn't completely convince Charlotte. It was like a tiny spark had been ignited in her heart.

Her mood darkened, and she said in a low voice, "Alright then. We'll go back for now."

And so, they all left.

On the way home, no one spoke. Hayden's actions still shook them. They had developed a fear of him and a strong desire to avoid further contact with him.

As night fell, Charlotte sat alone on the lounge chair in the courtyard, staring blankly at the sky.

Julia approached Charlotte and gently called out to her, "Mom, the wind is picking up. How about you go back inside and rest?"

Charlotte didn't respond. She slowly lifted her head and looked at Julia with calm, yet sharp eyes, as if she were scrutinizing her to the very core.

At that moment, Julia froze. She felt as if Charlotte had seen through the deepest secrets of her heart.

What should she do? Should she tell the truth?

But… Could Charlotte handle it?

Thinking of this, Julia grew even more resentful of Hayden. It was because of him that Charlotte had such suspicions! Damn him!

Julia was torn, not wanting to speak at all.

"Julia, no matter what, I believe you love me the most. Trust me. I don't like being kept in the dark or deceived, okay?" Charlotte said earnestly.

With no other choice, Julia closed her eyes in despair. She knew there was no way to keep hiding the truth any longer.

"Morgan is Dad's illegitimate son and my biological half-brother."
