Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 192

Albert turning on him mid-plan was something that Hayden hadn't seen coming.

Why had the guy suddenly flipped? What had Morgan done to pull this off?

Hayden couldn't help but wonder. The quiet, unassuming kid he thought he knew had a streak of mystery about him.

"What do I do now?" Albert asked, his tone uneasy as he turned to Morgan.

"Turn yourself in," Morgan replied without missing a beat. "Explain everything to the cops. Make it clear that you didn't actually commit any crimes and that you've already handed over the dirty money. They won't make it hard for you."

He gave a small, confident nod and continued, "If they still don't believe you, I'll back you up. I promise you won't get into any trouble."

Albert hesitated for a moment but then nodded firmly. "Alright." With that, he turned and left.

As Albert disappeared, the crowd of onlookers gathered began to disperse as well, buzzing with whispers.

It didn't take long for the story to spread like wildfire. Soon, everyone in Stonybrook seemed to be talking about it.

Could the Sterling family really get out of this mess this time?

That was the question on everyone's lips.

Meanwhile, Francis wasted no time springing into action. He was already setting plans in motion.

50 thousand dollars had bought him a fall guy, someone who was willing to take the blame for everything. The man confessed to it all, clearing Morgan of any involvement.

Morgan nodded solemnly, his jaw clenched tight. "I understand."

But his mind was racing. "Still… I can't help but wonder… What's with Albert? Wasn't 30 thousand dollars enough to cover his daughter's medical bills? How did Morgan get to him? Does he really have that kind of pull?"

Francis let out a cold chuckle, brushing off the question. "That's just some small potatoes. What matters is the billion-dollar project. Someone's clearly gunning for us. That dirty money didn't end up in our company by accident."

His tone grew more serious. "We've already lost ten billion. God knows what their next move is."

Morgan hesitated, then asked, "But do you think James had anything to do with this?"

Francis' expression shifted instantly, his brows knitting together. The mention of James brought back memories of the cryptic comments he'd made in the hall earlier that day.

Could James have known this was coming all along? The thought gnawed at Francis' mind. But after a long pause, he shook his head.
