Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 176

"Y-Yes, I know him…" Francis smiled awkwardly, his face extremely pale. The panic on his face was evident.

The crowd was puzzled. Who could possibly make Francis act like this?

"Well, since you're acquainted, that makes things easier," David said with a slight smirk, his tone light and casual.

However, Victor stood frozen in place. He, too, was bewildered.

He had been on his way back to the capital, only to be abruptly brought back here. The overwhelming formality of the situation left Victor unable to gauge the other party's identity.

Only now did Victor realize that the person before him was the president of the Chamber of Commerce, a figure of immense influence in the entire Stonybrook.

To make matters worse, the venue turned out to be a Sterling family party. What on earth was going on here?

"Mr. Schnapp asked you to sit down. Didn't you hear him?" Someone whispered coldly into Victor's ear.

Startled, Victor immediately sat down, not daring to linger on his feet.

"Shouldn't you all take a seat as well?" David raised an eyebrow and looked at Francis with amusement.

Francis's face was already drenched in sweat. He gestured hurriedly while smiling awkwardly. "Yes, let's all sit. Please, take your seats."

Everyone quickly sat down in an upright position, quietly waiting in their seats. This scene left other guests even more perplexed.

"Mr. Schnapp, who exactly is this professor? Is he really just a college professor?" someone couldn't help but ask.

"That's right, he's indeed a professor from Brighton University. But he holds considerable authority as well.

He was here!

Victor gulped, his nerves spiraling out of control. He hadn't expected to see Hayden in person.

This was bad—really bad. Since Hayden was here, someone had to have found out the truth. If that was the case, his actions would not only cost him his job but also possibly land him in jail.

Sweat began pouring down Victor's face. Should he confess and mitigate the situation? That seemed to be his only option now.

Clenching his teeth so hard until his cheeks puffed out, Victor resolved to write a math problem on the paper.

It was a question from the previous year's SAT paper.
