Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 138

"Me burning bridges? I think you're the one who shouldn't burn bridges!" Hayden shook his head in disappointment after giving Lily a condescending look.

These people truly had no idea what future awaited them!

"You're as stubborn as a mule! Our family has done so much for you. Can't you just be considerate?" Lily retorted.

"No," Hayden refused firmly.

"Why you—" Lily started shaking in anger, balling up her fists and clenching her jaw hard.

Their gaze locked, seemingly challenging each other with their willpower.

Just then, a voice spoke up out of the blue. "What a coincidence, my friend. We meet again!"

The voice sounded a little aged. It was none other than Wagner. He was full of smiles as he silently observed Hayden.

Hayden and Lily looked toward him at the same time and were caught off guard.

Hayden, especially, was frowning tightly enough to make a strange expression.

"It's him again!" he thought. This persistent man just wouldn't leave him alone.

However, before he could speak, Lily asked while pointing at Hayden. "Sir, do you know him?"

"Yeah. I suppose it's fate. I had a little chat with him yesterday, and I came here again to look for him," Wagner explained.

However, Hayden just had to go against her right now!

"That's enough! Do you really think the Sterling family likes you that much? It's all because Morgan is asking for you!

"Other than this random old fool who's looking for you, who do you think even cares who you are?" Lily blurted, unleashing a verbal onslaught on Hayden, unable to tolerate his attitude any further.

She poured out all of her frustrations. Every word she said was filled with her scorn for Hayden.

"Heh, just as I expected! You could just say that right from the beginning. Why bother putting up an act? Since you've said your piece, then you should just leave. There's no need for me to continue this conversation with you," Hayden said, waving casually with a smile.

That was the true colors of the Sterling family—the way a member of that family behaved!
