"Hey, can you not be so aggressive and calm down?" Julia frowned immediately when Hayden brought up calling the police, and her mood only worsened.
"They just shut up already! I've left the Sterling family. How I acquired this money has nothing to do with you guys! Do you really have nothing better to do than poking your nose in my business all the time? You guys should worry more about surviving under Morgan's rule!" Hayden snapped back angrily.
He glared at her, then turned to confirm the transaction and got ready to leave.
Julia and Anna were caught off guard momentarily before quickly following him. They had yet to accomplish their objective, so there was no way they were going to leave just like that!
"Among those stocks you purchased earlier, only one will rise in value. The rest will fall."
Julia planned to start her dealings with Hayden through stocks. She knew very well that Hayden left the family empty-handed, so there was only one possibility—the money used for trading was from the Caldwells!
Regardless, she had no intention to find out how he acquired that money from them.
"Only one will rise?" Hayden was taken aback, having mixed feelings about the situation.
Although he harbored animosity toward Julia—the elder sister who constantly berated him and vented her dissatisfaction upon him in the past—she was still the general manager of Sterling Group, which attested to her strengths.
She was a university postgraduate with great financial sense. The Sterling family was only able to come out of several financial setbacks because of her efforts.
That was the reason Hayden placed great trust in Julia's abilities. If she claimed that the stocks he chose would fall in price, then it would most likely be true.
Just as Hayden hesitated, Julia knew that she made the right move. She managed to pique his interest!
She immediately approached him and changed her tone into a gentler one. "How about this? You come with me, and I'll explain to you how the stock market works on the way," she offered invitingly.
"So… What is it that Morgan wants me to do? Does he really miss me? Do you even believe that?"
Hayden's words caught Julia and Anna off guard, at a loss of what to do next. It was obvious that they did not buy that excuse either.
Nonetheless, they have spent over a decade living together with Morgan, which gave them a significant bond.
"Morgan's ill and undergoing some tests. If they can't find the cause of his illness, there might be great trouble ahead!" Julia replied with a grim tone, her expression stiff.
"You just need to keep him company. I'll stay by your side to protect you. How's that?" Anna suggested out of the blue.
She believed that she made a sufficient compromise, and it was enough to make things less dangerous for Hayden.
