Rebirth: We Split Ways.. novel Chapter 99

Penelope responded with calmness and a slight smile, "Yes, that person is me."

Kyle, showing the most impatience among the three, exclaimed, "How dare they speak ill of Sister! I'll go down and confront them!"

"I'm coming too!"

"As am I!"

"No need," Penelope said, observing their protective stance. A smile played on her lips. "As long as those I care about don't see me in that light, I'm okay."

Penelope inquired about various things, like what they might still need for school. She had already transferred living expenses to their accounts, urging them not to strain themselves.

She reminded them to keep her identity as Sister Raccoon a secret and arranged for security to escort the three children from the underground garage.

No sooner had the children departed than Andrew called.

He had been on frequent business trips lately, all arranged by Penelope. After all, feeling guilty, he was willing to go.

He first reprimanded the media on the phone for their malicious and immoral fabrications. Then, he comforted Penelope, explaining the situation to her, and ultimately expressed his wish to return home.

Amused, Penelope cleared her throat and agreed.

She instructed him to return to Dubai after concluding his business in Redmond and attend their grandfather's birthday celebration in a few days.

Andrew joyously hung up.

Soon after, Vincent entered the room.

Seeing his sister's cheerful demeanor, he sighed in relief, "There's some urgent board business. I intended to stay with you for a few days, but I must leave today. I'll return to Dubai with your second brother. Let Jack keep you company."

Penelope, resting her chin on the president's desk, mused, "Third Brother is quite lively."

"It's good to have him around."

"Alright, take care, both of you."

Considering a stock price decline, Vincent needed to return, and Penelope understood the situation. She didn't want to keep her eldest brother.

By midday, concerned about Penelope's mood, Kevin arranged for a Savoury Dishes chef to come to the Diamoson to cook.

Seeing Penelope enjoy the meal lifted his spirits.

Following Vincent's instructions, Kevin had been particularly attentive to Penelope's moods, ensuring her happiness.

In the afternoon, Penelope held a video conference with Meyer, confirming that their joint venture project remained largely unaffected.

After discussing upcoming plans, she concluded her workday.

Security was on high alert, ensuring no disruptions as reporters were kept at bay.

Penelope noticed Jack's expression, realizing that Vincent had cautioned him beforehand. "Brother, your enthusiasm today seems a tad overwhelming," she remarked.

"It was Big Brother's instructions. I dare not disobey."

After dinner, as Penelope lounged on the couch, she lamented,

"Third brother, how boring!"

"Since you can't go out now, let's do something else," Jack suggested.

Suddenly inspired, Penelope's eyes sparkled, "How about a game?"

"That's a great idea!"

Inside the room were cutting-edge computers, where Penelope and Jack were engrossed in a tower defense game.

They logged into a popular tower defense game called 'Victory League,' boasting nearly 800 million registered users worldwide.

The duo played only a few rounds before feeling utterly despondent and utterly defeated by their opponents.

Penelope slumped back in the gaming chair, exclaiming, "Third brother, we're outmatched; we might need some backup or assistance."

"Leave it to me," Jack assured her, ready to make arrangements.
