Rebirth: We Split Ways.. novel Chapter 82

At nine o'clock in the evening, Penelope and Adam arrived at the party.

It was a gathering of big shots in the entertainment industry, and of course, some people brought their close friends or family to attend.

Penelope was wearing an elegant satin dress. The smooth, dark green fabric had no wrinkles on it, perfectly highlighting her figure. There was no jewelry on her delicate collarbones, giving off an incomparably simple, luxurious vibe.

She was outstandingly beautiful, and as soon as she entered, she attracted the attention of all the attendees at the party.

Everyone was amazed that the editor-in-chief of Universal Entertainment was so powerful and invited Simon's scandal partner to accompany him. However, due to the power of Universal Entertainment, no one dared to come forward boldly to make such remarks.

Adam still had the same cold social attitude. When others toasted him, he would reply with a stiff face, and Penelope helped him deal with them.

"With you here, I can stay for a while in a gathering like this. I usually turn up, take a photo, and leave."

Penelope's red lips hooked up into a light smile. "I wish more favors from the editor-in-chief."

As they were talking, Philip Wright, the boss of Rave Entertainment, approached them.

He had a big fat belly. Although he was dressed in a suit and expensive leather shoes, he was too short, giving off the impression of a child wearing adult clothes.

"Editor-in-Chief Keller, is this Ms. Penelope who has been on the hot search these days next to you?" Philip took the champagne to express his wish for the evening and then drank it all in one gulp.

Adam doesn’t have the same attitude towards Philip as others do. He squinted his eyes, showing his displeasure. "Don't you have eyes?"

Universal Entertainment had recently suffered several information leaks, all of which were caused by their rival company, Rave Entertainment. Adam was investigating this matter, so naturally, his attitude towards Philip would not be good.

Philip smiled openly, "Editor-in-Chief Keller has been troubled recently and has been a little irritable to any friendly gesture. I can understand. You should pay more attention to the movements of your subordinates, and don't let me poach them all."

"It's okay. Anyone who can be poached is the one I want to fire. You are merely helping me." Adam remained brutal with his words.

His statement implies that Philip takes all the garbage he doesn't want.

Philip was not at ease and turned to Penelope, "There are rumors that Simon has been in contact with you even during your marriage. Would you like to clear the air, Ms. Reed?"

"How about we have an exclusive interview?"

Now that Rave Entertainment was competing with Universal Entertainment for the top position, it was time to find hot topics to get there.

Although Rave Entertainment and Universal Entertainment were on the same level in the monetary aspect, the competition was based on who could go all out to find topics. Of course, the more aggressive, the better they would give the outside world a false impression that Rave Entertainment could now compete with Universal Entertainment.

However, the headline-hungry CEO’s confidence soared at the thought of getting a first-hand gist of Simon's love affair. Isn’t stripping a small sacrifice to pay?

"Okay. Ms. Reed, please keep your promise."

Penelope's starry eyes swept over the people who were getting closer, and a sneer appeared at the corner of her mouth, "Of course, with so many people watching, I'm just afraid that you'll be shy when the time comes to take off your clothes."

"What is the bet?"

Penelope's eyes swept over the card table beside them, and her red lips lightly parted, "Bet on dice."

Philip almost laughed out loud.

Isn't she just plainly shooting herself in the foot?

Before making his fortune in entertainment, Philip was just a gangster who hung out in casinos. The first pot of gold used in setting up Rave Entertainment was also earned in the casino.

How could a fancy woman who was mixed up in a men's circle possibly outplay him?
