Rebirth: We Split Ways.. novel Chapter 53

Dominic paused for an instant, and he looked at Penelope with a secretive gaze but remained cold and silent.

This woman was beautiful and intelligent, and he couldn't guess her thoughts at all. Her questions were more like a trap; if he took one step closer, he would fall into the abyss.

Whether there is affection or not does not need to be considered, but he does regret ending the marriage prematurely.

Penelope lowered her eyes and smiled lightly, her expression showing a hint of coldness, "Hah! It was a slip of the tongue on my part. How could someone as heartless as Mr. Archer be affected by such an insignificant past."

She continued, "As a businessman, the most important thing is profit. I don't need to remind you of this. Mr. Archer should know better than me."

"What do you want to say in the end?"

Dominic's face was gloomy, and his cold and threatening voice sounded, which oppressed the other parties.

Penelope acted unfazed, "Mr. Archer, since it wasn't because of our past relationship that you rejected Diamoson Corporation’s offer, then I am only left with one way to convince you."

"How about you and me having a horse race?"

A strand of fine hair hung on her cheek, and Penelope's eyes were full of authority, "If you win, Diamoson Corporation will never mention joining the project again. If I win, Archer Corporation will have to agree to accept Diamoson Corporation."

Dominic had professional training in horse riding, which could be said to be on par with professional competitors, but Penelope was confident that she would definitely win against him today.

Levi seemed to have no stance, and the bias in his words was very obvious, "Miss Reed's sincerity is evident, and her riding skills are evident. It's just that I don't know if Mr. Archer has confidence in his horse-riding skills."

Dominic frowned slightly, his eyes darkening as he looked at Penelope, "Why should I prove myself to you?"

Penelope shrugged with an indifferent attitude, "Okay when I leave, I'll tell the whole city that you, Dominic, are a coward who's afraid of your ex-wife."

Penelope intentionally mentioned that. If Dominic could really turn a deaf ear to all her provocative words, then he was no longer the Dominic she knew.

At that moment, the whistle sounded, and Penelope's horse set off half a step ahead.

Dominic snapped back to reality and immediately rode his horse to catch up.

On the track, the two of them rode their horses one after the other. Their figures caught the eye of the rest of the racecourse. The duel between the handsome man and the beautiful woman was considered a highly professional flat race event, attracting everyone to stop and watch the competition.

Penelope's horse took the lead on the first lap and galloped all the way.

Dominic's horse followed closely behind, surpassing Penelope’s on the second lap.

Dominic’s cold and deep facial features, coupled with a focused and calm expression and the muscle lines of his shirt faintly revealing as he grasped the horse reins, made some girls squeal in excitement.

As the third lap approached, the two of them were almost in the same position, but Dominic's horse was a little ahead of Penelope’s, making the crowd in the stands nervous.
