Penelope Sharp's inquiry utterly silenced Dominic.
All this time, he had stood by Melissa and Danna, never truly listening to what Penelope had to say.
Was this one of the reasons she insisted on a divorce?
A wave of indescribable remorse washed over him.
"Apologize to her," Dominic said sternly to Danna.
Danna lowered her head, refusing to speak.
"Do you think a simple apology can resolve years of humiliation and subsequent slander behind her back?"
Penelope’s brother, Vincent stood beside her, radiating an aura of fury. His face was stern, and he exuded an intimidating presence. Seeing the Archer family treat his sister this way filled him with disdain.
His gaze fell on Kyla, and he said, "Regarding the damaging remarks about the executives of my company that trended online, I've identified the instigator."
Kyla felt the weight of Vincent's piercing gaze, her heart racing. Impossible.
No one could have traced it back to her.
She had anonymously provided those photos to the writer, ensuring her identity remained hidden.
"This report twists the truth and maliciously defames the senior leadership of Dorsett, creating a profoundly negative impact online. The authorities will soon dispatch an officer. Kyla will be required to return to the police station when they arrive."
Kyla's face turned pale, her heart pounding. She retreated, shaking her head repeatedly when she met Dominic’s questioning eyes.
Tears welled in her eyes as she spoke, her gaze filled with earnest plea. "Dominic, trust me, I would never do something like that."
Dominic shielded Kyla behind him, his gaze intense and unwavering. "President Reed, could there be some misunderstanding regarding this matter?"
Penelope raised his piercing eyes, surveying the individuals before him. "Destroying property with ill intent, spreading false accusations, harboring both recent and longstanding grievances... It's time we resolve this matter once and for all!"
Danna felt a wave of terror wash over her, causing her legs to tremble uncontrollably.
What was she to do now? She realized with growing dread that she was the mastermind behind all this, and it was only a matter of time before the police would come looking for her.
She clung tightly to Dominic’s arm, tears streaming down her face. "Brother, please help me. I can't bear the thought of going to the police station."
At the same time, Kyla nestled into Dominic’s embrace, her voice laced with defiance. "Dominic, I swear I'm innocent. I truly didn't do it!"
Dominic felt a surge of anger boiling within him. Although he wanted to reprimand Danna for causing such trouble, he restrained himself, mindful of their sibling relationship.
"Miss Reed," he began, taking a deep breath to calm himself, "Danna acted out of ignorance. Is there a possibility for us to resolve this matter privately?"
