Rebirth: We Split Ways.. novel Chapter 160

“Remember what you said today. If you have to make a fool of yourself again, then you can’t blame anyone but yourself.”

Danna guaranteed again and again before finally leaving the office.

Waiting for her to leave, Dominic condensed his face and looked out the window, lost in thought. Even Lanny did not know when he came in.

“Mr. Archer?”

Dominic retracted his gaze. “What is it?”

Lanny said truthfully, “Recently, I’ve discovered that someone has been acquiring our company’s shares in a large number of malicious ways, and looking at the situation, it’s obvious that those people are up to no good.”

“Did you find out anything?”

“The other party acted very carefully and didn’t leave a hint, but our people are following very closely. As soon as they strike again, we can definitely find out some clues.”

“Well, let’s not alert them yet.”

“Yes, Mr. Archer.”

After the two of them finished chatting about work, Dominic’s words changed. “In the past, when Penelope worked in our group, did she have any coworkers who were a bit closer to her?”

Lanny glanced at Dominic, then said, “Secretary Reed is serious and down-to-earth in her work. She handles relationships with colleagues very tactfully. If we’re talking about if she is close to any colleague, I don’t think so.”

Dominic was a bit lost.

“Okay, go down then.”

Lanny could not guess Dominic’s mind, but he also clearly felt that during this recent time, he seemed to be extraordinarily attached to Penelope.

...

Meanwhile…

At the top floor office of the Diamoson Corporation, Penelope had just finished a video conference with a multinational plutocrat when the door to her office was knocked on.

“Come in.”

As soon as the words left her mouth, Andrew walked in with a smile on his face.

“Goddess, there are two documents here that need your signature.”

Penelope was helpless.

Penelope sighed helplessly and had to explain, “I just got divorced.”

Andrew was full of concern. “I know.”

She had a serious face. “I have no plans to remarry for the time being.”

Andrew nodded slightly and then said, “That’s okay. I can wait.”

Seeing that he would not give up, Penelope had to use the killer tactic. “You’re not my type.”

Unexpectedly, Andrew came over, wide-eyed.

“Then you tell me what type you like. I’ll change myself.”

Penelope was really stunned by this vigor of his. “Andrew, why does it have to be me?”

He could not help but laugh at himself.

“There are so many reasons. Once you see it right, you will recognize it.”
