"If that’s the case, let's call the police!"
Williams said, with an eagle-like sharp gaze at Danna. "Since Ms. Archer said she saw it with her own eyes, I think she will not let Kyla be wronged. When the time comes, I hope you can come forward to testify and tell the truth about what you saw."
Danna tried to answer, "I..." She bit her lips tightly. At first, he wanted to come forward to testify, but after seeing Dominic's face she had to swallow back the words that came to her mouth.
Changing her words, she said, "The scene was dimly lit at the time, so I probably didn't see it very well."
She changed his words in front of Williams's face!
Danna's heart thumped extremely fast, as if it was going to drill halfway out of her throat.
Williams let out a cold snort. "Ms. Archer, I just need you to be truthful. Why do you need to be like this?"
"I..." She lowered her eyes and looked towards Dominic pleading for help.
Williams's eyes sank a little, not expecting that at this moment, Dominic would still defend Penelope.
He pulled out his elder's demeanor. "Dominic, Kyla was pregnant with your child! Now that the child is gone, you as a father not only don't have the slightest bit of sadness, but instead, you defend the culprit who hurt them. Are you doing this to go against Kyla and your child?"
"I’m sorry!" Dominic spoke. "I will arrange for someone to investigate the truth of this matter."
"Will you investigate clearly, or do you want to use this opportunity to protect that woman?" Williams said nonchalantly, the sound of their argument reaching the ward.
As soon as Kyla heard this, tears swished down her face, flowing down the corners of her eyes and dripping on top of the pillow.
"Dominic, what do you mean by that? Do you think I would joke about our child?"
He did not say anything, but his eyes remained on her, not missing half of her expression. "I only want to know the truth!"
Kyla looked at him incredulously, the corner of her mouth hooked up in mockery. "Dominic, are you unwilling to believe that Penelope would do such a thing? But this is the truth. She pushed me! If she hadn't pushed me, I wouldn't have fallen at all, and my baby wouldn't have been aborted! All of this is Penelope’s fault!"
Dominic looked at her without a trace of extra expression on his face.
"Is that so?"
