The first plane crash made her see Dominic for who he indeed was, realizing the reality of their marriage and dispelling the illusion that her efforts would be reciprocated.
But what about the second time?
After all the twists and turns.
She found herself still alone.
Penelope lowered his gaze, fixating on the shattered screen of his phone. A wave of disappointment washed over him, causing his eyes to moisten involuntarily.
At that moment, a fierce wind howled outside. Gradually, a helicopter descended, revealing a tall man in a crisp suit exuding an air of nobility.
His expression was stern, and his gaze seemed to pinpoint the individual he sought the moment he touched down. With determined strides, he made his way inside.
The noise from the helicopter drew the attention of the other rescued passengers. Everyone eagerly watched the approaching man, curious about whom he was here to collect.
"He's so handsome! Who's the injured princess he's here for?"
Penelope couldn't muster the energy to glance in the direction of the voices. However, upon hearing those words, tears surged uncontrollably, defying her attempts to hold them back.
While everyone else had someone waiting for them, she was alone.
The surroundings fell eerily silent, and the distinct rhythm of approaching footsteps resonated sharply in Penelope's ears, magnifying its clarity.
She instinctively lifted her gaze to meet the individual behind those footsteps.
Behind them, the blaze illuminated the night sky. The man moved swiftly past the hopeful gazes of the injured passengers, approaching with purpose.
Penelope strained to see through her teary eyes, attempting to discern the familiar figure before her. The tears distorted her sight, but as the figure drew nearer, she couldn't contain herself and whispered the name aloud.
"Ryan?"
The footsteps halted before her, and Ryan gently cradled Penelope's face in his warm hands, wiping away her tears with his thumb as if handling a precious gem.
"I'm here, Penny,"
He murmured in a deep, reassuring voice, dispelling her heart's anxieties. The warmth of his touch made everything feel real and tangible.
As Penelope scrutinized the man before her—his handsome features, deep-set eyes, like the final masterpiece of a divine artist.
She realized that though she had felt alone, her knight had long since arrived.
The crowd erupted in excitement.
"Wow! What a match!"
The comments below were enough to make Penelope blush.
"Wow! The rich have ways of love beyond our imagination."
"Though the image is a bit blurry, they make a perfect couple!"
"Shipping this couple so hard!"
"Don't worry about this; I'll handle it," Ryan said,
His voice exuded calm assurance, prompting Penelope to close her eyes again.
After Ryan gently closed the door behind him, Linda appeared excitedly.
"Ryan, well done!"
"Mom, it's just media speculation. Don't get the wrong idea."
But Linda couldn't contain her joy. "What wrong idea? Your Grandfather and Penelope's brothers are here, waiting in the living room to see you!"
Ryan sighed, amazed at his mother's speed.
