Rebirth In Divorce My New Mr. Perfect (by Summer Knowles) novel Chapter 864

Lucas instinctively reached out and grabbed her hand. “Don’t be scared. I’m right here.”

But Mia didn’t respond with words. All he could hear was her uneven breathing, and her grip on his hand kept tightening.

He called out tentatively, “Mia? Are you still there?”

She took a deep breath, trying to suppress the wave of discomfort rising in her chest. Thinking back to the treatment Sarah had given her earlier, she forced out, “Yeah... I’m here.”

“I… I want to find Sarah,” she said at last, unable to hold it together.

Lucas immediately picked up on her distress. “I’ll take you to her now.”

But the hall was pitch black, and even he couldn’t tell which direction was which.

The entire ballroom had plunged into darkness. Amid the confusion, someone shouted, “Is there a power outage?!”

“Please don’t panic! We’ve already sent someone to check it out,” Sarah said calmly, stepping into the center of the room.

So far, things were still under control. Several celebrities turned on their phone flashlights, lighting up the space with scattered beams.

A power outage?

Sarah suddenly felt a wave of unease.

The Pine Mist Island resort had been built with backup power and generators. Under normal circumstances, a blackout like this was impossible. So was this a genuine technical failure—or had someone deliberately sabotaged it?

Zachary didn’t leave Sarah’s side. He could sense it—someone had slipped a wolf into the crowd.

Nearby, journalists picked up their cameras, ready for a scoop.

Suddenly, a faint click broke the silence—and then the massive screen behind Sarah lit up.

The sudden burst of light startled everyone. Sarah turned around, thinking the power was back.

Then came an odd moan from the speakers.

Everyone’s eyes widened as they watched a video play on the big screen.

Through the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, neon lights sparkled outside—but no one was looking at the view. On the couch in front of the window, a man and woman clung to each other… both completely naked.

A bold reporter stepped forward and asked loudly, “Ms. Sanders, can you confirm whether the woman in that video was you?”

“No,” Sarah replied calmly, her voice steady—as if the explicit footage hadn’t fazed her at all.

The reporter pressed on, “So you’re saying the video was fabricated? If you insist it was digitally altered, we’d be happy to analyze it using our company’s forensics team.”

Sarah shot him a cold look. “That won’t be necessary. Thank you.”

The reporter sat down, embarrassed, but took petty revenge by uploading the video and interview clip to the internet.

And the Pine Mist Island livestream hadn’t been turned off.

Mia rushed forward, standing protectively in front of Sarah and facing off against the vile reporters.

Meanwhile, Lucas glanced toward the entrance, his brows furrowed. Then he suddenly turned and ran out.

A voice called out again from the crowd.

“Ms. Sanders, will you give us a sincere response? The woman on that screen clearly had your face. Why not replay the video and let the public decide?”
