Rebirth In Divorce My New Mr. Perfect (by Summer Knowles) novel Chapter 821

Mia quickened her pace and ran to Sarah's side, shooting a glare at the grinning Leon before clutching Sarah's arm and whining sweetly, "Sarah, do you really think I'm such a troublemaker?"

Sarah gently tapped her nose with an amused smile. "Don't twist my words—I never said that."

Mia glanced back again at Leon, who was still staring fixedly at Sarah, then hurriedly tugged on Sarah's hand to pick up the pace. "Sarah, let's walk faster. I'm starving."

Sarah seemed to understand exactly what was going through the girl's mind. Not only did she not resist, she played along perfectly. "Then we'd better hurry."

Leon watched their clumsy performance with amusement rather than anger, matching their pace step for step—sometimes faster, sometimes slower—like a persistent shadow.

Mia couldn't stand how clingy he was being. She whirled around in frustration. "Hey! Can you either walk faster or slower? Stop following right behind us like that!"

Leon flashed a grin. "Little girl, does this road belong to you or something?”

Sarah knew Mia was no match for Leon and worried he might provoke her into losing her temper. She quickly pulled Mia aside and changed the subject. "I almost forgot to ask—what do you want for lunch?"

The distraction worked, and Mia's anger subsided.

They finally made it to the school gates without incident.

When Sarah noticed numerous female students pointing and whispering with flushed faces, she had a pretty good idea what she'd find.

Without realizing it, her mood had already shifted.

Seeing the tall, strikingly handsome man leaning casually against a tree by the gate waiting for them, the tension she'd been carrying immediately melted away.

Mia waved excitedly and shouted, “Zachary!”

Watching Zachary's brow furrow deeper, Leon cheerfully added fuel to the fire. "Though I suppose there's a first-come, first-served policy for medical appointments. Miss Sanders is my personal physician now, so you'll have to get in line, Mr. Reynolds."

Zachary's eyes held no emotion whatsoever—like he was looking at an inanimate object. Without turning around, he said, "Mia, take Sarah to the car and wait for me."

It was Sarah who answered. "Alright, but hurry up. Mia and I are both hungry."

Zachary's expression softened slightly as he nodded obediently.

After they left, his face darkened at a visible speed, and he threatened in an ominous tone, "Leon, I'd advise you to stay away from Sarah. Otherwise, I can't guarantee what I might do."

Leon wasn't intimidated in the slightest—if anything, he seemed eager to provoke. "That's quite a joke, Mr. Reynolds. Miss Sanders is treating my condition. How could I possibly stay away from her?"

Zachary said nothing more, only gave him one final warning look before turning and walking toward his car.
