Dylan spoke and then saw Jonas put down the teacup in his hand and picked up his phone to make a call.
Dylan was stunned, then he said, "Who are you calling?"
Jonas did not answer Dylan. As the call connected on the other end, he said directly, "Go to the hospital and check if Amelia's in the hospital."
"Yes."
The call ended, and Jonas placed the phone aside. Dylan's stunned reaction took a while before he asked, "Amelia? Who is that?"
Jonas put down the phone and continued to brew his tea, showing no hint of strangeness. Dylan's words finally registered in his ears, and he asked, "A friend of Naomi?"
"Ah?"
"Naomi's friend?"
"How'd you know?"
He did not know.
Jonas paused his actions, then looked up at Dylan. "How wouldn't I know?"
"Uh," Dylan was at a loss for words.
Jonas's information network was formidable. If he wanted to know something, it was a simple matter. Naturally, knowing who Naomi's friend was, was normal.
Dylan touched his nose, and quickly, the words Jonas just said floated into his mind. Suddenly, he became alert. "So, it means Naomi's friend, Amelia, had a sudden illness and was taken to the hospital last night. The location happened to be in San Angelino, the hometown of Charles' grandmother. Therefore, Charles there with her?"
After Dylan stuttered, Jonas withdrew his gaze and continued to brew tea. Now, hearing Dylan's words, he replied, "Last night, Charles' grandmother had a sudden cerebral hemorrhage and was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment."
This was awkward.
Jonas picked up the teacup, smelled the tea fragrance, and sipped the tea, his movements consistently unhurried, exuding a sense of leisure and elegance. However, this leisurely elegance, combined with his cold face, created a unique feeling.
Dylan remained stiff for a while before finally reacting. He shook his head and sighed. "Could it be that even the heavens are helping Charles, thinking that Scott is wasteful and doesn't appreciate it, so they want to punish him?"
Otherwise, how could it be so coincidental?
Jonas's eyelids twitched slightly, and he said, "There's another thing."
At this point, Dylan, still sighing, picked up the teacup and drank tea, shaking his head continuously. He wore an expression that seemed to say that Scott deserved it.
Upon hearing Jonas's words, he immediately asked, "What's the matter?"
