Meanwhile, at the hotel, Naomi was beginning to feel drowsy. She glanced out the window. It seemed that a few hours passed, and the entire city seemed to have settled down into a slumber.
She glanced at her phone. It was already 10 p.m.
She closed her laptop and tidied her desk to get ready for bed.
All of a sudden, she was reminded of something.
Scott.
She glanced at the couch only to discover it was empty, as was the rest of the room.
Where was he? Did he leave?
Naomi thought this was the most likely explanation. After all, Olivia was in town, so surely Scott went to see her?
Naomi slowly inched her way toward the walk-in closet, intending to get a change of clothes so she could get ready for bed.
However, just as she was about to turn the doorknob, the door opened from the other side.
She froze.
A few moments later, Scott stepped out from inside the closet. Naomi stared in shock at the man before her.
Scott stepped forward and picked her up in his arms. Naomi opened her mouth to say something, but no words came out. She thought he had left. It turned out he was inside the closet all this while.
Scott carried her into the closet so that she could choose the clothes she wanted. Naomi could not help but notice his open laptop on the couch, its screen displaying a seemingly complicated spreadsheet.
He was working inside the closet.
Naomi did not say anything and instead turned her attention back to the clothes. She picked out the pajamas she wanted and instinctively concealed her underwear within them so that Scott would not see.
The bathroom window was made of matte glass, and Naomi's silhouette was vaguely outlined against the foggy glass.
Scott's eyes ran along the curves of her body, and it was as though he could feel her soft skin beneath his fingers.
At this same time, his entire body seemed to sink into the couch beneath him.
Naomi stepped out of the shower and put on her fresh pajamas. Then, she slowly made her way to the door.
With a gentle click, the door slid open, and out slipped the warm, steamy air inside the bathroom.
Naomi felt much more relaxed now after a nice, hot shower. She stepped out of the bathroom, clinging to the wall for support. The moment she walked out, however, she could not help but notice the man on the couch.
Scott was sitting on the couch, his legs crossed elegantly over each other while he balanced his laptop on his thigh. His fingers were still on his keyboard, but his eyes were fixated on her.
