Under everyone's shocked gaze, Emily took his hand and left.
However, on the way out of the hospital, her face was blue. Because when they entered the lift, the people inside regarded them as dreadful monsters, and they all stayed as distant as possible. And they stampeded to get our of the lift.
Inside the car, Emily asked indignantly, "Simon, how could this be?"
AIDS patients could be considered the disadvantaged. In many aspects, their hiding of their illness was not to deceive but to protect themselves.
Simon pulled his lips and said slowly in a deep voice, "Someone spread things about my condition. It seems to be nurse Connie!"
After Connie eavesdropped on their conversation yesterday, she was once again surrounded by other colleagues in the department to inquire about the extent of their date this morning when she came to work. So she told them all about Simon's condition.
She knew that Simon didn't like her. In order to avoid being reduced to a joke, she might as well take the initiative to take action.
In this case, no one would laugh at her. Instead, Simon would be the one to take all the blame!
Simon did not know Connie's thinkings, but now that the entire hospital had known it, the work in Tbridge City could only be suspended. In the past, everyone wanted to say hello to him even from a distance, but now they all avoided him in advance from a even bigger distance.
"Is it the nurse you brought home to drive me away?" Upon hearing this, Emily frowned.
"Yes." Simon nodded.
"How did she know?" Emily was puzzled. Seeing that he didn't know about it either, she gritted her teeth and said in a bad mood, "It's because you're messing around. And now, you are bitten back! Now you know what is called 'scorpion'!"
Simon's lips curled up slightly, and there was a hint of mockery in his smile.
Recalling what he had just experienced in the hospital, Emily turned back and looked at the box in the back seat. Although he looked very calm now, his eyes seemed to be covered with ice and snow.
She bit her lips and said in a very light tone, "Simon, Let's eat out!" "Good idea!" Simon replied.
They didn't go home directly but went to a restaurant run by a southerner on their way home.
The chef was from the south where the people there fancy spicy food. Therefore, every dish was spicy. They ate as usual and ordered four dishes and one soup, all in small portions, just like at home. It was just enough for two people.
When Emily put down her bowl, she found he barely ate anything.
The white off-roader was parked downstairs, and there were stars glittering in the night sky.
After taking a shower, Emily came out of the bathroom. She looked around and found his straight back in the balcony beside the kitchen.
The balcony was independent from the apartment, being in the open air, so one could enjoy the scenery outside more directly.
However, one could still feel cold facing the cool night wind.
Simon only wore a thin shirt and trousers. His hands were on the rail. The night wind blew his hair in front of his forehead. Maybe it was because of the dark color of his clothes, it seemed that he was going to be integrated with the night.
Emily shouted at him, "Simon, I'm done bathing!" "Mm." Simon turned around and mentioned for the cigarette case on the rattan chair next to him. "Can I smoke a cigarette?"
Emily held her breath.
Just as she didn't know why he said so much medical knowledge, she heard his low voice sounding again slowly. "Emily, if I'm dead, you can just marry someone else."
After hearing this, Emily's face suddenly turned blue.
So this is the point?
After saying these words, she threw her hands off and ran back to the living room.
Sitting on the sofa, she twitched her nose and felt wet in her eyes. And at last, she burst into tears. It seemed that her valve of tear had been opened and tears were pouring out from her eyes. Emily raised her hand and wiped her face at a venture. After a while, she gave up wiping because there were too many tears to be wiped clean.
She was sitting on the sofa, shedding tears of anger and hatred.
Suddenly she remembered that, when they were at Wendy's husband's funeral, Simon asked her would
her heart break if he was dead...
Emily felt it was unlucky to ask. Maybe it was because of that stupid question.
Just like when he got to Tbridge City and she was so infuriated that she even ran away from home, Emily swore while wiping her tears, "Bastard, son of bitch!"
"Have you had enough?"
