"Emily, it's late now. Go to bed early!"
Emily looked at the night sky outside and said, "Aunt, you and uncle take care of yourselves!"
After the call, she held the mobile phone in her hand, and the sound of the water in the kitchen behind her stopped at this time. Then she turned around and saw that Calvin was warmly smiling at her as he wiped his hands. "Emily, I've washed the dishes!"
Because of the military uniform he wore, he didn't look fit for housework.
Emily was a little embarrassed. "I'm sorry to trouble you. Every time you come, I always ask you to do the housework..."
"Never mind. I've been in the army all the time, so I'm used to this kind of thing!" Calvin paused and joked. "Besides, I can practice in advance to lay a good foundation for our marriage life in the future!"
Emily could not help asking, "When did you become a glib talker?"
"You're not used to it?" Calvin blinked at her.
Emily said embarrassedly, "To be honest, I'm indeed a little unaccustomed to it!"
In fact, they didn't have much time to stay together. Maybe there were less than five times. Most of the time, the two contacted through the phone. Although their love wasn't intense, it was very simple.
Calvin sat down on the sofa with her. There were freshly cooked scented tea on the table, which was steaming.
He filled the small teacup, and while he handed it to her, he glanced at her cell phone in her hand. "Was it a call from your family?"
"Yes, it's my aunt." Emily nodded.
Calvin watched her take a sip of the scented tea and said casually, "Emily, haven't you told your family about us?"
Emily was stunned. "No..."
When Calvin heard this, there was a slight disappointment in his eyes. He smiled gently. "There's no hurry. I should visit them personally after I return to Ice city!"
When it came to returning to Ice city, Emily thought of her best friend Wendy's wedding.
As her best friend, Emily naturally should attend it and witness such a happy moment of her life, so Emily planned to go back.
Hearing her decision, Calvin frowned and asked in a low voice, "When will you leave?"
Emily thought for a while and said, "With luck, it should be tomorrow night's flight!"
"What's the hurry?" Calvin was surprised and frowned even more. Then he said with a worried look, "Although I have a week's vacation this time, my assigning period is not over. According to the discipline, I can't leave Country S for the time being. Otherwise, I will probably lose my qualification for promotion!"
Hearing this, Emily immediately said, "That's okay. I can go back by myself!"
She knew that her fiance's identity was special. Originally, after receiving the news, she planned to return home alone and she did not think about asking him to accompany her.
Calvin felt apologetic to let her come back alone. "I'll leave it alone. It's okay to violate the discipline once!"
"How can you do that? Didn't you always put in a lot of effort for the promotion? Don't make a big mistake for such a small thing. Besides, you're always looking forward to becoming a captain. This is your dream!" Emily comforted him and deliberately said in a joking tone, "Comrade Calvin, you have to work hard. If you get a promotion, it's also good for me. In the future, the income of the family will be much more!"
Such a great opportunity was a dream for every soldier. Men had their own career and dreams. Of course, she did not want Calvin to be affected because of her.
Hearing what she said, Calvin could not help smiling. "Okay, I'll work hard!"
Emily turned around and was ready to wash up and have a rest.
She received a text message that her ticket had been successfully booked. If she left tomorrow night, she still needed to simply pack her luggage and ask for a leave from the work unit.
However, she did not notice was that there was a little scarlet fire behind a thick tree downstairs.
After Calvin came out of the building, got into a taxi and disappeared, a tall figure came out from behind the tree. He put out the cigarette in his hand and left quietly.
The next evening, Calvin drove her to the airport.
Emily didn't have much luggage but a backpack, which contained some clean clothes.
On the way, Calvin was still feeling guilty that he could not go back with her. When he entered the airport lobby, he saw many people with various skin colors, but most of them were local people.
Calvin grabbed the backpack in her hand and took her passport. "Emily, I'll get you a boarding pass!"
"Okay!" Emily nodded.
Calvin walked in large strides towards the queue, right behind an old man.
The queue was very long, and it would probably last for a long time. Emily checked the time and found that there was plenty of time. She wanted to buy two cups of coffee in the cafe nearby. Just after she moved two steps, she saw a tall figure.
Simon said, "What a coincidence!"
