Simon placed the balls on the table in a row.
"Let's knit something for our baby!" He raised his eyebrow and looked at her, trying to catch her attention and cheer her up. "In addition to little socks, do you want to knit hats and gloves?"
Emily nodded honestly and said, "Yes..."
She was fastidious but incompetent in this skill. So far, she had only finished a pair of baby's socks.
Simon picked up the knitting needles smilingly and lulled her. "Emily, I can teach you. You knit a hat, and I knit a pair of gloves. When the baby is born, he can wear the clothes that we make for him. What do you think?"
Emily was looking forward to it.
Because just thinking about it, she began to feel excited.
However, no emotion was visible on her face until Simon pressed the two knitting needles into her hands that she pursed her lips as if she was unwilling to hold these.
It had to be said that Simon had an incomparable manual dexterity. Although he didn't know many methods of knitting, he only needed to find a how-to article on the Internet and read it twice. Soon, a small glove finished in his hands.
It was beautiful and soft with two bunny ears design
In the end, the two of them lay on the sofa, knitting for an entire day.
By the time a bright moon is shining in the sky, Emily made a hat with a ball of beige wool. On top of the hat were the two bunny ears that were knitted with the help of Simon. It was perfectly matched with the gloves he had just knitted.
Grabbing the bunny ears with her hands, her expression became increasingly cheerful.
Her gaze fell on her lower abdomen and she couldn't help but look forward to the future. When the child was born and she put those on him, she could tell him, "Daddy made it, and mommy made that for you..."
She pictured the scene in her mind's eye, so vivid and beautiful that she was beaming with pleasure.
When she looked up, Simon, who was standing in front of the French window with his back to her, turned around and strode toward her. She heard him talking to the phone, "Okay, I know, I'll go down right away!"
"You're going out again?" Emily pursed her lips. For some reason, she felt somewhat depressed.
"Mn." Simon nodded.
Hearing this, Emily put down the bunny ears in her hand, as well as the wool and the needles. She was no longer in the mood to continue, so she stood up and wanted to go back to the bedroom.
However, before she came back to her room, he grabbed her hand in time. She asked angrily, "What do you want?" "Let's go downstairs!" Simon smiled.
Emily looked at him with a frown. Before she could make a sound, he dragged her to the door.
When they came out of the elevator, Simon draped a man's coat over her shoulders, which was large enough to cover her hips. He zipped up right to her neck and even wrapped up her small chin.
Holding his hand, Emily walked out of the building.
She had guessed where he was going. To be honest, she was somewhat reluctant. However, when he came close to the black Cayenne, he did not hesitate but held her hand and walked to the city park.
Emily looked at him, confused.
Simon was tall, but he slowed the pace for she could walk abreast with him. The two of them walked all the way to the small square built in the park.
Could he want to stroll in the park?
Emily was puzzled. When she looked up, she saw security staff Mr. Weil standing in the middle waving at them.
Emily raised her head. His amorous eyes were like black crystals, reflecting the light of fireworks.
She could not hide the surprise in her expression and stammered, "Simon, you..."
Simon stretched out his arm and put a protective arm around her shoulders, slowly pressed her against his chest. He said in a low voice, "You said that your father liked to set off fireworks for you when you were a child. Every time you saw it, you would be very happy, so you set off fireworks for me! Mrs. Chin, I also want you to be happy!"
The night sky was aglow with the fireworks, and it was hard to see him clearly now. However, she thought maybe colorful fireworks burst in his eyes.
Emily's heart skipped a beat.
When he kissed her, she did not struggle.
She closed her eyes and felt that he was slowly kissing her, tongue snaking out to slide along her parted lips.
When she was panting, he released her. She pressed her face against his chest. Through the clothes, she could still hear his strong heartbeat while the sparks shot up into the night air.
Being tightly held by him, she gently put her arm around his waist and looked at the night sky.
Inexplicably, she thought of the song by Keith Whitley.
"The smile on your face lets me know that you need me. There's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave me. The touch of your hand says you'll catch me wherever I fall. You say it best when you say nothing at all..."
Emily had rosy cheeks and she took a deep breath.
The overpowering smell of the fireworks and odor of his body mingled in the evening air and created a hypnotic effect. She told herself again and again in her heart: "Well, I won't be afraid, I trust him!"
