Mila held her breath.
There seemed to be something sharp running through her heart, leaving a feeling of pain.
She lowered her head, hiding all her emotions.
Although she pretended to continue the action in her hand, out of the corner of her eye, she had been secretly looking in the direction of Leonardo. When he picked up the phone, he just walked to the end of the bed.
Because he was afraid of waking his daughter up, he leaned to the side of the window.
Mila couldn’t see the expression on his face clearly. The bright neon lights outside fell on his face, seeming to make it gentler.
In particular, the deliberately lowered voice sounded even softer. "Okay, I know. You come to the company to look for me tomorrow morning. I will accompany you..."
Mila didn't want to pry anymore. She quickly folded the bath towel and walked to the bathroom with it in her arms.
She was the only one in the bathroom, and she did not have to worry that her
Mila nodded. "Well, I know!"
Leonardo said, "I'll ask the secretary to bring breakfast here!"
"Actually, it doesn't have to be so troublesome. There is self-service breakfast in the hotel. It's very convenient, and it's a waste if we don't eat it!"
"Alright!" Leonardo nodded thoughtfully.
There was a newly opened pharmaceutical factory in the suburbs. He had to go to have a look early tomorrow morning. The secretary would go with him. It would indeed be a little troublesome if he sent breakfast tomorrow morning.
Leonardo paused and said, "Tomorrow evening..."
He was about to say that tomorrow evening, he would pick them up for dinner after work when there was a knock on the door.
Afraid of waking her daughter up, Mila hurriedly said, "I'll open the door!"
The person who came was Charley.
After entering the door and seeing Leonardo coming out of the
bedroom, Charley immediately raised his eyebrows and said, "Brother, you’ve been here a lot recently. Are you trying to take my girlfriend away?"
The corner of Mila’s mouth twitched.
She secretly pinched Charley to remind him that his performance was exaggerated.
However, Mila had to cooperate with him on the surface. She showed a fake smile and explained, "Leonardo is here to see Holly!" Leonardo's eyes were dark.
He had no expression on his face, and his voice was a little cold. "I'll go first!"
"Bye bye!" Mila nodded.
Leonardo immediately looked at her coldly.
Mila did not understand, so she added, "Drive carefully!"
Leonardo's eyes seemed to be shooting a sharp arrow at her.
Mila was stunned.
After Leonardo left, only the two of them were left in the room. Mila frowned, looked at Charley, whose feet were on the tea table, and asked him, "Charley, why are you here so late?"
Charley deliberately joked, "Are you blaming me for disturbing you?"
Mila shook her head. "No..."
If Charley hadn't just reminded her, she would almost forget it. How could she mention it to Leonardo?
Charley raised his hand and stroked his chin, his eyes full of banter.
Since she hadn't said it, he didn't intend to tell Leonardo, either.
After all, he had not seen Leonardo lose control for many years. It must be very interesting!
At nine o'clock the next morning.
The outside was full of sunshine, shining in every corner of the room. Mila closed the suitcase and put it aside.
Holly had already dressed up, wearing a yellow duck hat on her head and carrying a schoolbag of the same style on her back. She raised her small face to ask her softly, "Mom, are we going back to Country F now?"
"Yes!" Mila nodded.
Holly asked with some disappointment, "What about dad? Didn't you tell him? I haven't said goodbye to him yet!"
A conflicted look appeared on Mila's face.
Leonardo was Holly's father. Normally, she should tell him.
After taking out her phone, Mila suddenly stopped. She couldn't help but think of the phone call last night. He should be with Lyla right now. Would the call bother him...
After hesitating for a while, Mila decided to give up and sent him a message instead.
As soon as the message was sent successfully, Charley came over. While looking at his watch, he pulled up her suitcase and urged, "Mila, hurry up! It's too late. We have to hurry to the airport. The car is downstairs! Let's go!"
