With that, she calmly replied, “…I’m not mad, nor am I thinking of anything else. As you said, the child came at a bad time, and if anyone with bad intentions were to spread the news around, then it would not only ruin our reputation, but also the rest of your family. At the end of the day, my sister is still your wife, so this child and I aren’t exactly acceptable to the public.”

“We’re both adults here, so I figured I may as well deal with this calmly. Again, I’m fine, so go back and just focus on taking care of Maison…” added Xavia.

...Xavia was being extremely sensible… A little too sensible… Though Zivon found it strange, she was still in a pretty vulnerable state at the moment, so he didn’t want to pick a fight with her. With that, he showed her his thermos before saying, “I’ll leave, but only after I feed you some soup.”

This left Xavia momentarily stunned. That dignified man was actually planning on spoon-feeding her soup…?! Shocked and slightly flustered now, Xavia quickly replied, “I-”

“You’re not allowed to refuse,” interrupted Zivon as he sat by the bed and began scooping a spoonful of soup…

Raising the spoon, Zivon then gently blew on it to ensure that the soup wasn’t too hot.

This, of course, only served to further petrify Xavia in place. Why… Why was he still being this gentle with her…?

Seeing that she wasn’t drinking from the spoon, Zivon then said, “Don’t feel like drinking out of the spoon? Should I feed you mouth-to-mouth instead?”

Upon hearing that, Xavia instantly snapped out of it. She, for one, knew that Zivon meant every word he said, so she simply drank the soup off the spoon… The soup itself wasn’t seasoned well enough, but it was still delicious… That aside, she hadn’t eaten at all till this point, so she ended up finishing the entire thermos of soup.

Throughout that period, Zivon gazed tenderly at her… however, their little moment was disrupted when Zivon suddenly received a message notification.

Getting his phone out, he saw that it was Keith’s assistant, and the message stated, ‘Young Master Keith is back.’

Nodding in response, Zivon then gave her forehead a gentle kiss before saying, “Rest well…”

Despite how tender his kiss was, it made her heart tremble as though it had just been subjected to a hailstorm… All Xavia could do was clench her fists—which were hidden under her quilt—tightly… and it was only after the man had left when she began shedding tears.

Xavia really hated herself… By this point, she knew for a fact that she shouldn’t be moved by him… after all, that would only lead to more pain… Unfortunately, she was still completely head over heels for him whenever he showed her the slightest care… What was wrong with her…? When did he even start having such a strong influence on her…?

As Xavia pondered about this, Zivon himself was already leaving the North Court, uninterested in confronting Keith at the moment.

If he wanted Xavia to successfully terminate her contract with Keith, then Zivon wanted to do it sneakily. With that in mind, he walked all the way back to his courtyard before dialing a number by the roadside…

Once the call connected, Zivon said, “Meet me at the villa tonight.”
