Turning around, Zivon then gently placed a hand on her cheek while saying, “Stay in the hospital for now. Single ward so you don’t need to run around so much.”
With how serious his tone was, it was almost as if he was thinking of her more… But that aside, was it really ideal to be in the same ward as Keith? Had he not taken what she had previously said seriously?
Feeling slightly speechless, Xavia replied, “…Won’t sharing a single room be too cramped…? Why not get the doctors to arrange a suite for you…?”
“I don’t find it cramped,” said Zivon as he walked off.
…Well, if he liked it that much, so be it. Following that thought, Xavia then headed off to sleep in another ward. Far too much had happened today, and she was exhausted…
Fast forward to the next day, the sun was already shining brightly by the time Xavia got up. After washing up, she then headed downstairs to get some breakfast…
When she returned—with some breakfast in hand—, she was surprised to see that Keith was still asleep. Zivon, on the other hand, was already awake, and he was treating his wound while leaning against his hospital bed. His posture and looks alone made it feel like he had been brought out of a painting…
Whatever the case was, now that Zivon was before her, Xavia couldn’t help but recall what Bianca had said yesterday. The house was extremely dear to him, yet he had still promised her….
As a cocktail of guilt, remorse, and heartache assaulted her heart, Xavia eventually snapped out of it when she heard Zivon ask, “Why are you standing there all dazed?”
Quickly collecting her thoughts, she then walked over before saying, “…It’s nothing. That aside, why are you applying medication by yourself, Young Master Burton?”
“I don’t like others touching me,” replied Zivon in a calm tone.
…Didn’t he allow the doctor to apply medication for him yesterday, though…?
Sensing her doubt, Zivon then added, “If you’re wondering why I allowed the doctor to do it yesterday, I just didn’t have the strength to bother at the time.”
Looking at the blushing woman, Zivon then added, “What’s wrong…? Weren’t you quite open when you saw Keith yesterday…?”
This left Xavia momentarily startled. Was he talking about that urinal incident? Was he this petty to bring that up?! Not wanting Zivon to continue saying such things, she then grabbed the medication and a cotton bud before walking over to him as she said, “…Fine, I’ll do it. Lie down and don’t move…”
Grinning slightly, Zivon then moved his hand away and readjusted how he sat so she could properly apply the medicine…
Now that she was much closer to Zivon, Xavia could see just how serious his wounds were… They were everywhere. On his hands, waist, and even his chest. What a fight it must have been… The thought of it alone made Xavia feel slightly bitter and uncomfortable.
After all, had it not been for her, he and Keith wouldn’t have ended up this badly injured. Perhaps that fortune teller was right… She truly did bring bad luck to others…
It was at that moment when Zivon felt a teardrop on the back of his hand. Seeing that something was off with Xavia, he felt his heart momentarily tighten… and eventually, he gave her a hug…
