“Thank you… Thank you so much…” replied Xavia as she slightly reluctantly gave Zivon’s to him. All she could do was beg for his help now. Even if she had to tell him his daughter’s identity, she’d rather do that than have her daughter be turned into an orphan despised by all…
To her surprise, the first thing she heard was a woman’s voice asking, “Hello? Are you looking for Young Master Burton? He’s taking a shower at the moment.”
…It was Jenna. Were they sleeping together tonight…? Then again, they were husband and wife, so that wasn’t out of the ordinary… Though Xavia momentarily felt a hint of discomfort, she quickly calmed herself as she replied, “…It’s Xavia. I’m in trouble. Could you come over to the detention center? I need your help…”
“…The detention center…? Hold on, I’ll be right there.”
“…I appreciate it…” replied Xavia, feeling a lump in her throat. To think that in the end, Jenna—who always treated her terribly—would actually come to her aid without question… As it turned out, it was only after she encountered this mishap when she realized that familial bonds were unbreakable…
Unbeknownst to Xavia, Jenna immediately smirked with disgust after hanging up. She had a feeling that Xavia would call Zivon tonight, which was why she made sure to leave his phone on silent mode. So, her guess was correct!
Saying that she didn’t want to get involved with Zivon… What bullsh*t! She had clearly just attempted to hook up with him in secret! After all, when a woman contacted a man—under such situations—and the man came forth to help, it was clear what would happen next.
Sneering at the thought, Jenna then deleted the call log before placing Zivon’s phone back on the couch, making it seem like it had never been tampered with.
This made her puzzled agent—who had been sitting close by—ask, “…Are… you really going over to save her? But why?”
Turning to face her agent, Jenna simply said, “You’re thinking too much. I’m just heading over to have a look at her. As if I’d ever save a murderer.”
Soon enough, Xavia saw that Jenna had a branded dress on, and her hair looked as soft as seaweed. Her slender posture only served to make her look even more prestigious. Though Jenna looked like a high and mighty princess, the desolate Xavia appeared to be nothing more than a forgotten prisoner… What a massive difference…
Regardless, upon seeing Xavia, Jenna got to her feet, appearing puzzled and slightly guilty as she said, “I’m sorry, Xavia. I knew I said I was going to rush over, but when Zivon came out, he insisted that…”
Though Jenna’s sentence trailed off, her blush and awkward expression made it clear as day what she was referring to. With that in mind, Xavia simply forced a wry smile as she replied, “…It’s fine. It’s good enough that you’re here…”
“Indeed… What happened to you, Xavia…? Why a detention center…? I heard them say that you killed someone, but that couldn’t be, right…?”
Understandably, Xavia’s small face immediately darkened when she heard the topic…
