Following that, Xavia headed to the balcony to keep some distance away from him. Still, this was proof that all men thought about was sex… Why else would he want her to repay him with her body when he had already said that he was no longer interested in her?
Xavia’s train of thought was cut short when a sleepy voice was heard—on the other end of the line—saying, “What’s wrong, Xavia…? It’s pretty late now…”
Realizing that it was already past midnight, Xavia quickly replied, “I’m sorry for calling at this awkward hour… I wasn’t paying attention to the time. Either way, I just wanted to know how Jenna was doing…”
“Ah, so that’s what this is about… Well, Jenna’s condition has significantly improved in the past two days. In fact, she’s even been able to occasionally move her hands. I believe she’s aware of her current state, and I have a feeling that she’ll wake in about two more days. To help with that, however, she needs some sort of stimulation, and I’m currently pondering on how to achieve that.”
In two days? What great news! After a brief pause, Xavia was prompted to say, “Why don’t you ask Zivon to head over and converse with her? The last time he was in that room, he did… something… But it managed to get a reaction out of Jenna, right…?”
Curious as to why Xavia was suddenly sounding embarrassed, Matthew couldn’t help but frown as he asked, “…Come again? What happened? What did he do?”
“…I… think he hugged or kissed Jenna…? Whichever it was, Jenna’s heart began beating rapidly after that, right…? You even had to run over to resuscitate her at the time…” muttered Xavia as she recalled the maids gossiping about it in the backyard that afternoon. How strange… Why did she remember this incident so clearly…?
Regardless, upon hearing that, Matthew simply replied, “Oh, that? He didn’t kiss or hug her at all. Instead, he simply said some things, resulting in Jenna having slight changes to her emotions. Even so, that didn’t really do anything to improve her situation.”
…Huh? All Zivon did was talk…? Then why were the rumors so ambiguous-sounding?! As they said, never trust rumors…
Though slightly surprised to now realize this, Xavia was prompted to ask, “So… What should we do…? Would donating more of my blood work?”
“Negative. You’ve already donated far too much by this point. Worry not, I’ll do my best to think of another way. Also, as you said, I think it’d do her good if Young Master Burton came over.”
“…I see. I’ll notify him then. Thank you for your time,” replied Xavia as she hung up before quickly re-entering the ward.
Reading the comments caused Xavia to sigh. How could there be zero serious answers?! Shaking her head, she then continued searching for professional advice… Unfortunately, even after browsing for quite a while, Xavia’s searches always led to either hospital advertisements or near unintelligible information.
Disheartened, she then got up and sat on a chair in the room, leaning against it as she thought things through. If Jenna was really waking up in the next two days, then even if those behind the scenes managed to fully uncover what she had been doing all this time, they wouldn’t be able to use it against her, right…?
Xavia’s train of thought was cut short when Zivon’s low voice could be heard saying, “…How long do you plan on sitting there?”
Hearing that, Xavia turned to face the dignified man before replying, “I’ll be here overnight. After all, you were the one who told me to stay back and care for you, no?”
While that was true, Zivon hadn’t told her to just sit there. With that in mind, Zivon then said, “Obedient, aren’t we? Since that’s the case, come over and sleep next to me…”
