Upon leaving the office that evening, she was quickly greeted by the sight of James waiting for her outside. Reminded of his lovely lunchbox, she struggled to find the right words to say… And in the end, James beat her to it by saying, “There you are. Come on, I’ll take you someplace neat.”
Nodding weakly, she got into the vehicle before asking, “Um… W-where-”
“You’ll see in a bit…”
It was a short drive later when they arrived at the clearing… a clearing that sold a very special garage kit that was only sold once every three years! It was a doll kit that went by the name of Lisa, and Lana had adored this series ever since she was a child. In fact, she had already eight of the items from the ‘Pink’ series, and she simply needed one final one to complete her collection…
Alas, she had failed to obtain the final piece during her last few attempts, and she had mostly given up hope, yet…
“…H-how…?”
“How did I find out about this? It only makes sense for me to know what my wife likes,” replied James casually, causing Lana’s heart to throb.
As if all this wasn’t already enough, James suddenly began pulling her toward the location while saying, “So, I’ve done a bit of research, and unlike the previous years, the piece you want can only be bought if you win a motorcycle race… And with that said, I’ve signed myself up!”
Shortly after, they all got on their motorcycles… and with the sound of gunfire, everyone revved forward! Naturally, Lana was on edge the entire time. After all, if something befell James, how was she to explain it to the Frankstons?
Thankfully, James made sure to ride safely, so even though he was one of the last contenders, he was also in the safest spot. This made Lana breathe a sigh of relief… However, when the second lap started, he suddenly began charging forward to a dangerous degree! Sure, he was now almost in first place, but Lana’s heart was a complete mess! Why the hell was he risking his life like that?!
James himself was still as cool as a cucumber despite how fast he was going. After all, he had ridden faster during his time in the army! Alas, due to how focused he was, he failed to notice that the second-place motorcyclist was glaring at him… and after a short while, he revealed a lighter that he flipped on and hurled toward James’s direction…!
