...What the hell? That order was directed to Fiona?!
Fiona herself had gone pale from surprise and confusion. With that, she asked in an aggrieved tone, “…But… Why, Brother Zivon…?”
“There are still plenty of people looking for hot news to write about. If they find you here with us, it’ll surely leave you with a bad name,” explained Zivon in a faint voice.
…So that was it! He simply didn’t want her to be referred to as a third party! With this new understanding, Fiona beamed with joy as she replied, “I knew you’d never mistreat me, Brother Zivon! Regardless, I’ll be taking my leave first, then. Let’s meet again another day.”
Following that, Fiona grabbed her satchel bag and swayed it as she headed for the door, making sure to glace triumphantly at Xavia before finally leaving the room…
Though Fiona was now gone, Xavia couldn’t help but remain silent. After all, she had honestly assumed that Zivon had told her to stay out of kindness. Just when she thought that he was finally treating her like a regular human being, it turned out that he had actually been doing all this just to save Fiona’s reputation! The entire situation was honestly laughable…
Regardless, Zayne himself was currently frowning. After all, the way things were currently going was rather strange. If Zivon had been worried about Fiona’s reputation, then why didn’t he send her off before Xavia came over? Did he send her off… because of Xavia…? Putting two and two together, Zayne quickly realized just how much Zivon actually cared about Xavia.
Whatever the case was, the atmosphere remained quiet for quite a while… until eventually, Zayne decided to break the awkward silence by saying, “…Either way, let’s continue coming up with ways to help Chace…”
Grunting in response, Zivon simply replied, “Any ideas?”
“…If I had any, I would’ve already said them earlier… Actually, hold on. Miss Lockhart, I believe Bianca Jourdain’s personality is similar to yours. I wonder if you could contribute some ideas…” asked Zayne as he turned to look at Xavia.
“Well… From what I can tell, Miss Jourdain must have given all her heart to Mr. Saltman before this. After all, not only was she there for him during her prime years, but she also ended up marrying him. From what you told me, Mr. Saltman turned her life upside down, so I see no reason why she would want to return to him. You see, when a woman loves a man, she’ll treat her love like a precious vase. Once she stops feeling loved, however, the vase will shatter, and it’ll be impossible for her broken heart to be healed again…”
“Besides, I’m sure it must have been difficult for her to set her life straight and finally find happiness again. With that said, why are you guys planning to make things difficult for her again? Just leave her be. With how outstanding Mr. Saltman is, he can easily find another woman to his liking, right?” explained Xavia.
While Zayne honestly had the same thought process, he still wanted to help since this was Chace they were talking about. With that, Zayne was prompted to reply, “…I think it’s important to note that Chace loved her far more than she loved him… Just so you know, when they were younger, Chace would constantly be her white knight. That isn’t even an exaggeration. Countless people were sent to hospitals since Chace would beat up anyone who dared say bad things about her. Hell, even Zivon and I didn’t dare mistreat Bianca.”
“The problem lies later on when Chace was set up by his parents and brothers… Long story short, he suffered a major setback because of that. It didn’t help that Bianca was traveling abroad with a male classmate of hers at the time. Essentially, someone sent intimate photos between them to Chace, resulting in Chace getting extremely hurt. After all, he had just managed to make a comeback around then by taking over the Saltman Group and sending his parents and brothers to prison…”
