In the following days, Zivon would either be seen at his office, or by Xavia’s side… and whenever Ellen tried discussing Xavia’s situation with him, Jacob and James would always make sure to stop her.
Eventually, she was able to make her way to his office, but… unlike before, he didn’t seem keen on talking with her at all. That alone was enough to make her understand his point of view…
Fast forward to a night sometime later, Zivon drank so much with Chace and Zayne that he ended up vomiting his guts out… When he finally left the washroom, he was greeted by the sight of a worried-looking Ellen who handed him a glass of warm water and some stomach medicine before asking, “…Do you need me to hypnotize you to ease the pain?”
Ignoring the items she had handed out to him, he simply rubbed his temple before replying, “…It’s fine. You can head back.”
Pursing her lips, Ellen eventually muttered, “…Is it really necessary for you to be so distant? Are you afraid that you’ll fall for me or something?”
Squinting in response, Zivon didn’t even hesitate to reply, “Well unlike a certain someone, I have an actual family and I don’t think that it’s wrong of me to want to avoid rousing unnecessary misunderstandings.”
“…Hey, I already explained myself back then. What’s more, I already know how much you love your wife, so is it wrong for me to view you through the lens of an admirer? That aside, do you truly plan to remain single for the rest of your life if she never wakes-”
It was then that she realized that she had over spoken, and after a brief pause, she took a deep breath before adding, “…Sorry, I didn’t mean that.”
Fast forward to the next day, Zivon had already fully recovered from his exhaustion. Watching as Ellen entered his office, he was prompted to say, “So… As we both know, Xav has been unwilling to return to our world because her dream is much better, and… I don’t know, since we’ve been failing to bring her back by dealing with her trauma, don’t you think we should change tactics?”
“…You say that, but this is the only standard method to deal with such issues. Unless you have any other ideas in mind?”
“If I had, I wouldn’t be asking you. Alright, let’s change the question a bit. How would you deal with this from the opposite direction?”
…Opposite? What did he- Wait.
