Shortly after, Zivon was wheeled to Xavia’s ward… and with his intravenous drip still attached to his arm, the people he passed by couldn’t help but sigh. After all, even though he had just escaped the maws of death, his priority was still his wife… What a truly loving couple…
Either way, when Zivon finally saw the unconscious Xavia with her oxygen mask attached, an immense pressure began building around him.
Noticing that familiar pressure, Ian quickly looked up and realized that Zivon was finally up. Before he could say a word, however, one of the doctors was quick to say, “Young Master Burton awoke about five minutes ago, and his first order was for us to bring him over!”
Pursing his lips, Ian replied, “…Though I did urge you to wake up sooner, at least go through a full-body examination first before coming over-”
“No need for that,” interrupted the determined man, causing Ian to sigh. There was nothing he could do to change that man’s mind, huh?
Shaking his head, Ian then pushed Zivon closer to the bedside before saying, “…So… Even though she fell into the sea back then, her body has already fully recovered. Alas, it seems that she’s reluctant to return to reality because of all the trauma that she’s experienced…”
When he heard that, Zivon couldn’t help but lower his gaze. After all, though he hadn’t been able to do much that night, he was aware of everything that had happened. He still had nightmares about that night, so he could only imagine how his frail wife was feeling…
“And when she wakes up to find the kids still missing, what am I supposed to tell her? Believe me when I say that she’ll surely awake once she learns that the kids and I are safe and sound.”
Pursing his lips, Ian then said, “…I’ve already sent several men out to look for them, and James and Jacob are leading the operation. Though it saddens me to say, they’ve yet to find the kids, so what hope do you, a person who can barely stand, do to help with the situation? Just stay here.”
Despite Ian’s decisive words, Zivon simply replied, “Since they’ve yet to be found, then there’s a chance that they didn’t die at sea. I’m sure that vile woman had a plan involving the kids to aid with her escape, so I won’t rest until I find out where that bitch and the kids are…!”
