After supporting the faint woman, Ian clenched his fists before saying, “…Don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll find him-”
“If he was alive, then we would’ve surely found him ages ago-”
“Stop!” interrupted Ian who couldn’t handle how depressed his sister was feeling.
After hugging her tightly, he eventually added, “…Who’s to say that he hasn’t made it out safely and is simply hiding from the public for now? Also, what if someone else rescued him instead?”
“…Is that… really possible…?”
“I mean, considering how we’ve yet to find his body even after scouring the entire area… I think it’s a safe bet to say that either of those two situations could have happened.”
…Ian had a point. Now feeling slightly hopeful again, Xavia replied, “…Got it. Could you get some men to start looking around the area as well…?”
“Will do. I’ll even have some people check the nearby hospitals. With that said, please try to calm down for now…” muttered Ian before heading off to give the new orders to his men.
Sneering in response, Xavia retorted, “Are you seriously saying you’re an understanding person after you constantly misunderstood and humiliated me…?!”
“…I didn’t know you were drugged, and thought that you truly loved him… I was just afraid of losing you forever. Look, my inferiority complex was less about losing my ability to walk and more about feeling worried that my inability to give you my all like before would cause you to lose interest in me… I mean, I couldn’t even get up to give you a hug for the longest time… Adding that to the fact that I kept seeing you together with Mark…”
“It just struck me that he was more qualified to take care of you. That bothered me greatly, which ultimately led to me getting more and more paranoid to the point where I hurt you this badly… You could argue that I’ve been being too rigid, but I simply love you that much… Putting all that aside… Now that you know all this, what should I do, Xav…?”
“Just what can I do to make you forgive me…?”
