...No. This wasn’t the time to be jealous! Shaking her head, she took a deep breath before replying, “…Please do. It’s urgent.”
“Right away, Mrs. Burton.”
Following that, Xavia heard some footsteps… but instead of hearing Zivon’s voice, she heard Rhea add, “…Um… The professor is currently conducting an important experiment that is prone to changes in the environment, so… I’m a little hesitant to enter. Could you wait for half an hour, Mrs. Burton? I’m sure it’ll be done by then.”
Naturally, Xavia wasn’t about to wait that long after learning about Stefan’s dire situation. However, she also knew better than to disrupt Zivon’s work, so she simply thanked Rhea before hanging up.
Since she couldn’t count on Zivon this time, she gave Ian a call… and the second it was picked up, she immediately said, “Ian? Please arrange a helicopter to S City for me. Stat.”
His sister rarely bothered him, and adding that to the fact that she sounded rather nervous, Ian concluded that there must be an emergency. With that, he quickly replied, “Got it. Come over to the palace and everything should be ready once you arrive.”
After thanking him, she hailed a cab and rushed toward the palace…
On her way there, she made sure to message one of the nannies, telling her to take care of the babies… and following that, she sent a text to Zivon, stating, ‘Stefan is very sick, and he may pass on soon so I’m heading to S City first. I did plan to ask for your help earlier, but you were busy. Don’t worry, Ian is handling this now.’
With that message sent, Xavia began praying with all her might that Stefan would be safe… However, upon looking out the window, her eyes suddenly widened.
“S-sir! Please, stop the car!”
“…You’re right… Stefan is a good man, so nothing bad will befall him…” muttered Xavia who was trying her best to reassure herself that that was the case…
Either way, with how efficient Ian was, Xavia and Mark managed to board the helicopter in no time…
Meanwhile, Zivon, who had been working on his experiment for nearly two hours, finally exited the lab, prompting Rhea to quickly walk up to him with his phone in hand.
Though she had assumed that Zivon had had an affair back then, she eventually learned that it had all just been a misunderstanding, and her admiration for him now knew no bounds. Regardless, she was quick to ask, “Are you tired, Professor? I’ve poured some warm water for you on your desk, and I’ve prepared some desserts as well to help energize you.”
Retaining his poker face, Zivon simply replied, “Thank you, but I’m not a fan of desserts, so there’s no need to prepare any more for me in the future. Also, my wife is rather narrow-minded, and she doesn’t like other women getting too close to me…”
