She quickly realized that the house was empty. What’s more, Zivon hadn’t left any notes behind. Feeling increasingly worried after all those kidnapping cases she had experienced, she was quick to give Zivon a call… and thankfully, it wasn’t long before he picked up.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Xavia replied, “Thank God… Um… Where are you and the kids…?”

“I was told that my old man got ill, so we’re all at the Burton Manor right now. Are you already home? If so, go take a bath and get some rest. I’ll be back soon.”

Though Xavia was relieved to hear that, she couldn’t help but ask, “I see… How is he looking? And why didn’t you tell me about this…? I could’ve come over as well-”

“No. You are not to visit the Burtons. Just so you know, had it not been for his poor health, I wouldn’t have brought the kids over in the first place.”

…That was right… he still hated them, especially after his mother’s death… He probably didn’t want her or the kids to be exposed to such a negative environment either…

Understanding that, she pursed her lips as she replied, “…Got it. Stay safe, alright?”

To his surprise, however, he quickly realized that something was poking against his back… and upon pulling it out, he realized that it was a long gift box. Raising a slight brow, he opened it… and inside, was an excellently made belt and an equally gorgeous tie. Attached to the corner of the box was a note as well…

‘Thank you for caring so much for me and the babies, Hubby… I heard somewhere that belts and ties are what hold a man’s heart together, and with that in mind, I hope this gift does the same for you… Your loving wife, Xavia.’

Naturally, Zivon’s heart instantly melted when he read all that. Looking at her gifts, he had to admit that they looked rather similar to what he already had… but at the end of the day, these were far more valuable since they came from his wife. With that, he eventually placed them aside and hugged his sleeping wife…

Stirring slightly from her sleep, the groggy woman kissed him on the cheek before nuzzling his chest as she muttered, “Sleepy… Hugs…”
