“…But… Why?” asked Xavia who was honestly more curious than mad.
Taking a deep breath, Zivon replied, “…As you saw, I’m not in a good mood, and I’m not fit to care for a pregnant woman either… Since I can’t help much, I’d rather not burden you as well… Also, I don’t want the kids to see me like this…”
Though Xavia could understand his feelings, she couldn’t help but mutter, “…Von, we’ve already been apart for so long, don’t you want to be with me at all…? That aside, don’t make it seem like you’re being considerate when you’ve actively been trying to push me away for a while now… It makes me wonder when you started feeling this way…”
…Truth be told, he hadn’t wanted her to be around him from the day that he learned that his legs were like this. Again, the last thing he wanted was for her to see him in such a pathetic state.
As he was wondering how to even reply, Dolly suddenly ran over with a camera in hand while exclaiming, “Hey, hey! Come on, let’s take a picture together! Young Master Burton keeps getting more handsome by the day, and Xavia has yet to take any pregnancy photos! This is the best time to capture some memories!”
Following that, Zayne and Chace walked over as well to say, “Yeah! It’s important to save such important memories!”
“Indeed. As Bianca once said, women love taking wedding, pregnancy, and anniversary photos, so you mustn’t let your wife down!”
Naturally, Zivon didn’t like the sound of that, but since everyone was here… Following a subtle sigh, he was just about to agree when Xavia suddenly said, “Actually, it’s fine… I’d rather not take any photos now.”
“…Huh? Why not? Weren’t you the one who suggested taking photos with him after he got discharged?” replied the slightly flabbergasted Dolly.
“Same! That doll house looked really fun!” added Yulia, prompting James and Jacob to smile.
After shaking his head, James then said, “Alright, we’ll be taking the kids home with us. Take care, alright?”
Before following the twins out, Ian made sure to add, “Take good care of yourselves, alright? Feel free to call if anything comes up.”
Once they were all gone, Xavia couldn’t help but sigh. Well, knowing those three, she wouldn’t have to worry about the kids at all. After all, she knew how much they loved the children, and honestly, Maison and Yulia seemed to have grown a bit more independent and righteous under their care. Regardless…
