Watching as Zivon stared at her with a poker face, Xavia pursed her lips before saying, “…Um… Thank you all for taking care of Von… I’ll take it from here.”
Nodding in response, everyone else then quickly left the room… and soon enough, the ward fell back into silence.
After staring at the prestigious man for a while, Xavia eventually sat at the edge of his bed before muttering, “…So… There are two things you should know. Firstly, I almost had a miscarriage…”
Upon hearing that, Zivon instantly squinted. After all, he remembered how much she had to run to escape with her life intact, and after a long pause, he was prompted to reply, “…I’m sorry. I should’ve never brought you there…”
Shaking her head, Xavia then held his hand while saying, “No, don’t apologize for that. I’m glad that I was able to face that kind of danger together with you… Regardless, the other thing is that… I’ve finally regained my memories.”
Eyes widening in shock, Zivon replied, “…When did this happen?”
“The day I awoke at the hospital… I guess all the trauma must have awakened those past memories or something, I’m not quite sure either…”
Shaking his head, he gently pushed her away before saying, “…Xav, my legs are ruined.”
“First of all, there’s a small chance of recovery, and I, for one, believe in miracles. Also, so what if your legs never heal? I can be your legs, and I’ll stay by your side forever!” declared Xavia in a determined voice.
Despite that, however, Zivon simply let out a tiny scoff. She had no idea what crippled legs meant to a married man… Shaking his head once more, he then replied, “…Get more rest in your room. I need some time alone.”
