Moving back to Xavia, she could be heard saying, “Cade, let Young Master Burton help you reunite with your family. I’m sure he’ll succeed, and if you ever run into any problems in the future, feel free to look for my help.”
Shaking his head, Cade held Xavia’s hands before saying, “Xavia, please don’t tell me you’re leaving after we’ve been together for so long…! I can no longer imagine a future without you…!”
Rather than pushing him away, she calmly replied, “Though I’m grateful for everything that you’ve done for me, at the end of the day, I’m already married, Cade… I have a loving family, friends, and children to return to, and I don’t think that it’s right for me to just leave them all behind…”
“But what about us…?! Do you truly not love me anymore…?!”
His statement left her rather speechless. After all, she thought it was pretty clear that she had zero feelings for him… Alas, before she could even reply, she felt a shiver run down her spine as an icy aura appeared behind her… And upon turning around, she realized that it was emanating from Zivon!
Though she wanted to explain things, he didn’t even bother looking at her. Instead, he simply glared at Cade while growling, “Which part of, ‘she’s married,’ don’t you understand…?!”
Upon hearing that, Cade couldn’t help but flinch. Despite how much he disliked this man, Cade couldn’t deny that his aura was downright terrifying… It made him feel as insignificant as an ant!
Her train of thought was cut short when she heard Cade add, “The child… It’s innocent, Xavia…! So be it if you wish to leave me, but please don’t abort it…!”
Frowning in response, Xavia was quick to reply, “I won’t abort it.”
After all, though she couldn’t deny that she enjoyed the cottage life in the past few months, she had simultaneously been haunted by a sense of unbelonging throughout that period… The child’s presence had been the only reason why she hadn’t broken down, so there was no way she was going to abort it after everything that it had done for her!
