Pregnant and Favored: See You in the Morning, Young Master novel Chapter 2244

As more tears rolled down her cheeks, the infuriated Leo roared, “She…! She’s pregnant…?! Oi! You’re supposed to carry on my family’s name! Mine! Go abort the child to make sure that it’s really dead!”

“It’s not the right time to abort anything. Get some hot water for her or she’ll die soon!” replied the doctor.

Instantly going pale, Leo replied, “…Fine! Give me a moment!”

Following that interaction, the doctor continued treating her for a bit… and eventually, he laid her down on one of the beds downstairs. Though the bed was shabby and stank quite a bit, it was still a bed, and Xavia could at least sleep without any mice and cockroaches scuttling around tonight…

“Keep breathing and try not to pass out for the time being, alright?” said the doctor as Leo returned with a pail of warm water.

Squinting slightly when he saw her being treated so gently, Leo grumbled, “No point in being nice with such a disobedient bitch… Just abort the child already then leave!”

Frowning in response, the doctor replied, “Look, her life force is weak right now, and if you keep making her riled up, then please look for some other doctor to treat her!”

Since this was the only doctor in the village, Leo eventually gave in and muttered, “…Fine! Just do your best to save her!”

“…C-come again…? But… why…?” asked the defeated woman who wasn’t sure whether she should even believe him or not.

Clearing his throat, the doctor replied, “For starters, I didn’t even come from this village. I got lost at the age of twelve, and thanks to some human traffickers finding me, I was brought over some twenty years ago… Alas, I can only say that I’m much more fortunate than you are. My foster parents had only bought me because they couldn’t bear any children, and because of that, they made sure to give me everything a child could ever need…”

“They’re currently bedridden, and I was planning to escape the village after their deaths anyway. As for how I became the village doctor… Let’s just say that I’m self-taught. I picked knowledge up here and there from the village’s old library, and though I can’t say that I’m an expert in the craft, I at least know how to cure minor diseases, which is why the villagers still respect me a little. Anyway, I’m your best shot at leaving this place.”

“If you want a reason… Let's just say that I remember how different the warm city is compared to this rotten old village… I know how much you’re suffering from this sudden change in environment… So if I can make things right, I have no reason not to hold back.”
