‘If Zivon Burton is unable to meet Whitney Baun’s standards, then she will have the right to ask him to return the antidote.’
The words were in fine print, and since Zivon had been desperate to save Xavia back then, he hadn’t noticed them… Though he would’ve still signed the contract anyway to save Xavia’s life, the fact that he only found out about it now was going to make things a bit more difficult…
Squinting slightly, he paused for a moment before saying, “Standards? The only requirement I have in this contract is to marry you. It says nothing about having to be a good husband. With that said, your ‘standards’ can’t be applied here.”
She knew that she wouldn’t be able to outtalk this great man, so she took a deep breath before replying, “…Though that is true, the contract clearly states that you have to divorce Xavia! With that in mind, I think it’s pretty clear that you shouldn’t be having a secret relationship with her! Also, I think it’s a given for a husband to at least not torture his wife, but look where we are now! I’m rightfully dissatisfied, so it’s only fair for me to request for the antidote again!”
“Of course, if you still refuse, then feel free to take legal action against me. My life is cheap, and I don’t mind sinking with you!” concluded Whitney, causing Zivon to frown.
The last thing he wanted was to bring this to court. After all, he didn’t really want the kids and the other Frankstons to learn about everything that had happened. It took him a while, but he eventually asked, “…Speaking of which, didn’t you have cancer?”
Knowing that Zivon wouldn’t agree to return the antidote that easily, the hopeful Whitney was quick to say, “I-I won’t ask for much at all! Just… promise not to meet her until then, and accompany me abroad with a slightly better attitude… T-that much is fine, right…?”
She made it sound reasonable, but Zivon easily noticed that she had stated three conditions! Not only did he have to cut contact with Xavia for an entire month, but he was also expected to treat her better while vacationing with her abroad? All of them were equally outrageous in Zivon’s eyes!
