"Relax, there won't be an issue in applying that to a human being. The worst outcome would simply be no outcome at all," the expert said.
"It's settled, then. Kathryn, report the daily progress to me," Anthony commanded.
"Yes, Mr. Marwood."
Anne was relieved and overjoyed that there was hope, however slim.
Anthony got up to leave, and Dorothy and Bianca followed.
Anne walked behind them and took out her phone to call Sarah.
Sarah answered right away and said, "Anne, how was it? Can they cure him?"
"Only three of the experts stayed and said that they can try, but there's no guarantee," Anne said truthfully.
Feeling as though a rock had been moved from her chest, Sarah said, "The doctors would never make promises even for simple surgeries. That means that your dad is definitely waking up!"
Anne did not dare to agree considering how severe her father's brain injury was. However, she could not deny her mother hope as well and said, "Let's wait for him to wake up. However long it takes."
"Yeah. He wronged me before and hasn't even made it up to us. He can't just leave us behind. I won't let him off that easily!" Tears filled Sarah's eyes. "When he wakes up, I am going to ask him to divorce Dorothy. That horrible woman!"
Anne, too, wanted her father to get a divorce, even if it was not for her and her mother's sake. She could tell that Nigel did not love Dorothy and had only stayed in the marriage for Bianca's sake.
Children would always be their parents' top priority. Reminded of her triplets, her chest tightened as she held back her tears.
After the call, she headed to the ward and was determined to enter even if Dorothy and Bianca tried to stop her.
"My Dad..." Tears threatened to fall from her eyes and Anne reeled her emotions in. "He's not doing too well. The doctor declared that he's in a vegetative state, but I believe that he will survive this."
"Of course. Mr. Faye has never been one to admit defeat." Robert said as he studied Anne's face. "Is your mother not around? Here's the thing, I'm actually here to read Mr. Faye's will."
Stunned, she repeated, "Will?"
Dorothy was shaken to the core. "Nigel has written a will? Why...why don't I know about this?"
"Is this a joke? My Dad wouldn't possibly write a will without telling his family. When was this?" Bianca questioned sharply.
"Three days before his accident," Robert said.
