Anne tensed when she saw the bodyguard standing in front of the door and summoned the courage to approach.
The bodyguard stopped them as soon as they got closer.
"There's no one in there now. Can you just let us in? We will come out right away," Anne pleaded.
"No." The bodyguard would not budge.
Sarah started to panic, not expecting to be stopped by the bodyguard even after Dorothy and Bianca had left. "Anne, what should we do?"
"Don't panic." Anne took out her phone and walked to the side to call Anthony, who answered after three seconds. "Can you let me and my mom into the room to see my Dad? Just for a little while, okay? I want to see how he's doing..."
When Anthony did not respond, she panicked and tears welled up in her eyes. "Please. Let me see my Dad!"
"Anne..." Sarah tugged at Anne's arm.
Anne turned around and saw Anthony walking out of the doctor's office with his phone in his hand without hanging up.
She hurried over and begged, "Let us in, okay? We will come out right away! I'm my dad's daughter as well. He definitely wants to see me! Anthony..."
Anthony felt far more pleased to see her begging after her earlier stubborn display and said, "Go in."
Nigel's hands grew cold again as soon as she warmed them up. "Dad, you have to wake up. I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have been angry at you. I should have let you send me home. I'm sorry..." Anne regretted throwing a tantrum at her father, when apologizing to Bianca would not hurt her in any way.
'I even left the country. Why did I have to be so wilful?' She thought. 'I don't want this...'
Sarah sat on the bench and stared at Nigel dazedly and sobbed without a word.
Knowing that she needed to give Sarah the space, Anne set her father's hands down and went outside, closing the door behind her.
Anthony did not leave and was waiting outside the door.
