Chapter 326
Then again, why would Bianca call her? Had she not learned her lessons from what happened before ? Anne did not want to answer Bianca‘s call, but she knew she would keep calling if she did not pick up.
Anne went to the washroom and answered the phone,” What the hell do you want now?”
“I‘m getting engaged the day after tomorrow, so I‘m inviting you to the party!” Bianca‘s voice sounded casual, but there was a hint of smugness.
Anne was shocked by her actions. Inviting her to the party?
“Are you out of your mind?” Anne blurted out her thoughts.
“Are you scared to come?” Bianca asked.
“Yes, I‘m scared.” Anne was not triggered by Bianca‘s aggressiveness.
“No way. You have to come. Otherwise, how can I make you give up on Anthony? I’ll find someone to drag you over if you don’t come.”
Anne’s gaze turned cold. Did Bianca really think she cared about their engagement party? In order to show off, she actually invited her rival!
Oh, Anne almost forgot. Bianca had never considered Anne as her rival in love. Instead, she was just an
abandoned plaything for Anthony.
“The location.” Anne agreed. She would not let Bianca come and find her. Moreover, Anthony’s bodyguards would most probably be the ones dragging her there, so it
was useless to resist.
On that day, Anne took a taxi to the engagement party.
She wore an ordinary dress, appearing really plain among
those who dressed to the nines in the splendid hotel
lobby,
All the guests were wealthy, and Anne only knew a few of
them. From afar, she saw the main characters of today’s
events, as well as the lady’s parents.
“Since you‘re here, you‘re our guest. Just do as you like.” Nigel walked over and handed Anne a glass of champagne.
Anne took the glass. “Thank you.”
Seeing them being so close, Dorothy‘s eyes flashed with ruthlessness, but she was still smiling. “By the way, I forgot to ask you something. I saw you and Anne going to lunch the day before yesterday. I didn‘t bother you since you seemed to have a good time. You two look close!”
Anne and Nigel‘s expressions changed.
Bianca walked over promptly. “Dad, I asked you to
accompany me that day, but you said you were busy. Was it because you were having lunch with Anne?”
Nigel answered, “I was busy, but then I bumped into Anne, so we had a meal together.”
“Anne must be the one pestering you, right?” Dorothy’s tone sounded weird. “After all, she inherited some of her
mom’s traits.”
Anne’s face immediately became gloomy. Then, before she could even say anything, Nigel lowered his voice and said sternly, “What nonsense are you talking about?”
