Chapter 1315
Tommy said calmly, “Anthony was checking on Lucas, and he found that Lucas was on the plane.”
Now that Anthony was fine, Anne was nervous and afraid.
Under the sunlight, her face appeared pale.
“It won’t be easy for him to find out,” Tommy comforted Anne.
However, Anne was not that optimistic.
After all, Anthony was shrewd and unpredictable, so who could guess his thoughts?
The logistics company was more than an hour’s journey away, but it took Tommy only half an hour.
The roads along the way were remote and tricky.
There was no monitoring, not even at the logistics company.
The driver was bribed in advance. He let Anne enter the car, squeezing into one of the boxes inside.
Before the lid was closed, Tommy caressed her head with one hand and said softly,” It takes about an hour and a half to arrive at the dock, but I’ll ask the driver to drive as fast as possible. Bear with it, okay?”
“Aren’t you going?” Anne asked.
“I can’t go, as it’ll arouse Anthony’s suspicion.” Tommy’s eyes were grim. He really wanted to accompany her, but it was better to be cautious.
Anne nodded. “Alright, cover the box!”
“The box is breathable, so don’t be nervous. Just treat it as if you’re taking a break. The drug’s effect will be off when you get out later.”
“Okay.”
Tommy paused for a few seconds before finally closing the lid.
The driver nailed the lid shut, and it looked just like any other box.
After sealing it, Tommy asked outside the box, “How do you feel?”
“It’s nothing but darkness,” Anne said.
“Okay.” Tommy patted the box lightly as if to steady her heart.
After the door of the lorry was closed, the driver was on his way.
Tommy watched the lorry leave, and his phone suddenly vibrated.
Just as he was putting away his phone, he felt someone behind him.
However, he was too slow, and a needle pierced his skin before he could react.
The man swung his hand backward vigorously.
His assailant took two steps back, and he missed.
The man in the hood thought it was Anthony’s subordinate and wanted to continue to move forward. However, his legs suddenly went weak, and he fell before reaching the person.
The person took out his phone and called, “Mr. Lloyd, we caught a suspect.”
“Bring him back to the execution room.”
“Yes, Mr. Lloyd.”
Anne could clearly feel the truck moving.
She huddled in the darkness, hugging her knees, feeling nervous and excited.
Then, she became teary-eyed again because she thought of her children…and it hurt so badly.
