She could not feel any pain when she fell off the bed in tears. After a while, she got up on her feet and stumbled her way toward the bathroom to put on her clothes, before heading down the stairs through the living room.

‘Anthony could do anything to me, but why would he do this to the Newmans? Why does he have to be so merciless?’ She thought, ‘This all happened because Lucas likes me and wants to help me. Anthony isn’t targeting Lucas; he is targeting me!’

She dragged her feet down the stairs, feeling as though she was about to fall apart with each step she took.

“Ah!” She stumbled on the last stair and fell onto the floor.

Anne broke down in tears at the helplessness that overwhelmed her.

Hayden hurried over. “Mrs. Marwood, what’s wrong? Are you hurt?”

“Don’t touch me…” She kept her head bowed and could not help but tremble.

Hayden stilled as he tried to take Anne’s arm. “Mrs. Marwood, are you hurt? Let me help you inside and call Doctor Brown to come over.”

“What’s there to see? I deserve it even if I die…” She said hoarsely.

“Mrs. Marwood?” Hayden could sense the despair in her tone and wondered if she had fought with Anthony.

‘But Mr. Marwood seemed to be in a rather good mood this morning when he came down the stairs,’ Hayden thought.

“Let me just help you up.” He moved closer to help her up.

Anne did not respond like she did not hear Mia at all.

“Mrs. Marwood, I will help treat your wound,” Mia said, before crouching to take the sanitizer out from the kit and proceeding to clean Anne’s wound.

Anne did not feel a thing and simply continued to stare at the television in tears.

Mia glanced at the television and the devastated look on Anne’s face, managing to reach a conclusion as to why Anne was so upset.

She might not know much, but she could always check with Bianca. With enough information, she would be able to divide Anthony and Anne to accomplish her goal.

After the triplets were done with their lessons, they headed to the master bedroom to search for their mother, only to realize that the door was locked.
