Power of Money (Jason Qin) novel Chapter 26

A faint fragrance immediately floated over. In the firelight, Jason observed Emily so closely for the first time.

Her skin was as delicate as jade, and her bright eyes were like autumn water. Her small and moist lips had a special temptation, which makes up an extremely delicate oval face.

However, what made Jason's heart tremble was not only because he was shocked by her appearance, but also because it was the first time that a girl used her body to help him avoid the wind and let him light the cigarette.

"The last one tonight. Don't smoke at the hospital anymore."

Emily paused and said lightly.

Jason did not answer. He took a deep breath and felt that his hands were trembling slightly.

"Actually, I also want one now." Emily suddenly said bitterly.

"Why?" Jason raised his head in surprise.

"Because you man often said that smoking and drinking can relieve your worries?"

Perhaps people like Nina Lyu were dispensable to Emily.

But tonight it was her biological mother, who harmed her the most seriously.

"Smoking is actually of little help. It's just that I've gotten used to it."

Jason thought for a moment and said flatly, but his eyes were still looking at the road with fewer people.

Emily sighed, and her sight began to blur. After a moment of silence, she suddenly said, "Maybe it's my last day working in St. De Hospital."

The cigarette in Jason's mouth quivered. He looked at Emily quietly and asked softly, "Is it because of money?"

"Yeah, I thought everything would be better after graduation, but I didn't expect that it would get worse. My mother drank every day, and my father owed debts on the gambling table. It's hard for me to support them with my current job. Or as my mother said, only when I marry a rich man can everything be changed."

This was the first time that Emily had mentioned her family in front of Jason. Although some events were simply described, the experiences were painful, just like breaking up with someone.

Seeing Jason smoking and saying nothing, Emily suddenly smiled, "Forget it, it's useless to say these things to you. You don't understand how it feels to worry about money for everyday life."

"I understand."

Jason puffed a puff of smoke, squinted his eyes in the smoke, and said lightly, "In the 19 years before I met you, I lived the same life as you do, bought clothes, went to school, and so on... At that time, I felt the same as you, and I thought about killing myself more than once. But it was not easy to come to this world, and I haven't seen many beautiful things. More importantly, if I died, my parents would be sad."

Emily looked at Jason in surprise and then said with a smile, "I forgot that you and Mr. Shen have just recognized each other not long ago. But your future will be promising. Everyone will take the initiative to revolve around you. After all, you are the Young Master of the Shen Family, just like the bright star. You don't need to go back to live without money."

After that, Emily stretched herself, looked up at the starry sky, and murmured, "I miss my grandparents."

"What?" Jason choked on the cigarette and didn't hear it clearly.

"Nothing. I said it's time for us to go back to the hospital, let's go."

Emily took Jason's arm and walked back to the hospital without saying anything.

Back to the ward.

Jason lay on the bed alone, thinking about the scene when tears dripping from Emily's eyes.

"How sad it is to make such a gentle and cheerful girl shed such desperate tears."

Jason sighed, took out his mobile phone, and searched the address book.

Looking around, he found that although he had a lot of money on his card now, he could not find a friend who could solve Emily's problem.

He couldn't directly give money to her.

Because he had already been rejected when giving her the cellphone.

It was even more impossible to give money.

But if he gave it to her mother in person, he didn't need to doubt whether this woman would accept it or not.

But that made no sense.

To save people in urgent cases but not to save the poor. This kind of woman was always greedy.

She might even give him an ungrateful look and bite him back.

Just as Jason was hesitating to dial a number, the door of the ward was knocked open. Emily came in with toiletries.

"Why haven't you slept yet? Is there anything wrong?" Jason asked in surprise.

"Well... It's okay. I just want to see if there is anything you need. I am too tired today and I will sleep tight later. I'm afraid I can't hear you if you need anything." Emily said with a shy smile.

Jason thought for a moment and found nothing serious.

In fact, if his mother didn't care too much about him, he didn't even need to be in the hospital.

"If anything happened, just tell me. In this case, although I don't understand these things, Mr. Dong must be clear. He is our big housekeeper and knows everything. I am thinking about arranging him to see you officially. Since you have something to ask, I will give his phone number to you first. You can ask him on the phone in advance. After you are recovered and go home, I will arrange the meeting formally."

"Okay, thank you, mom. You and your sister should rest early. I will go to see you tomorrow."

Jason waited for his mother to hang up, and a series of phone numbers were sent to him.

After putting the number into the address list, Jason felt that the person he needed most now was someone like Old Dong.

However, it was too late to disturb him. After walking for a long time, Jason was tired. When he was about to sleep, he heard a cry from outside. Then, there was a messy footstep in the corridor.

"Anything bad happened?"

This was his first reaction at that time.

Somehow, after Emily left the ward, he felt that something lost.

After all, what she said at that time was too inexplicable.

It was like a farewell.

Thinking of this, Jason didn't want to sleep anymore. He hurriedly got up and went out.

Only then did he see that the whole corridor was in chaos. Doctors and nurses were running around as if something terrible had happened.

Jason hurriedly grabbed a passing nurse and urgently asked, "What happened?"

The little nurse had just arrived at the hospital for a few days and didn't know Jason yet. However, she still answered truthfully, "Someone jumped off the building. I have to go now!"

After that, she ran away without looking back.

Jason had a bad feeling. There was no such coincidence in the world. He hurriedly followed the nurse downstairs. As soon as he arrived at the lobby on the first floor, he saw a stretcher with blood pushed in by a group of doctors.

When the stretcher passed by, Jason saw it clearly. It was Emily, who was lying on the bed in her nurse's uniform.

Her eyes were closed and her face was pale. The white uniform had been soaked in blood.

The blood had soaked most part of the nurse's clothes.

It was like the most dazzling flower in the middle of the night.
