Chapter 65
Although Emma did not understand Trevor‘s inexplicable coldness, she felt her whole world turned sunny after he left.
“Mr. Bateson‘s temper...” Wesley trailed off, shook his head, and sighed but did not continue.
“The temper of a spoiled brat,” Emma commented carelessly.
This made him laugh. “That‘s harsh!
It was because he was rich and powerful, so he was arrogant.
However, she had to admit that he had outstanding abilities as well. The Bateson Group grew at full speed under his supervision in the past few years.
Trevor established the Bateson Group Films, and it was now the top film and television company in Jonestown.
Therefore, he had the right to be haughty.
Nevertheless, this characteristic of his would ruin things when it came to relationships.
Of course, the two could live happily if the woman he loved did not care about his rather outstanding flaw.
At dinner time, Christopher was about to eat when the sound of a car engine echoed from outside his home.
The housekeeper glanced outside and said, “I think it‘s Trevor.”
Although the corners of his mouth curled up, he snorted, “How impatient. That‘s not like him at all.”
Then, the housekeeper answered with a smile, “Isn‘t this all part of your plan?”
This made Christopher grin before he sat upright, anticipating for Trevor to come
in.
Once Trevor came through the door, he did not bother being courteous and sat down across from Christopher after washing his hands.
Christopher greeted him reluctantly, “It‘s not the weekend. So what brought such a
busy person like you here?”
Of course, Trevor could hear Christopher‘s mockery and replied casually, “I haven‘t seen you in a while, and I happened to be free today.”
Christopher didn‘t respond as he sipped his soup calmly and said, “It is so rare for you to be free. Why don‘t you go on a date with Beauty Queen Crystal instead of visiting this old man?“.
Before Trevor could answer, Christopher‘s face immediately darkened, and he barked, “I heard about what Crystal did to Emma. I‘m warning you, the only reason I didn‘t take action toward her was for your sake. If she tries to pull off anything like that again, I‘ll need to have a talk with her. Otherwise, I’ll just send someone to harass her.”
This made Trevor look up at Christopher with a severe look.
How did he find out about all these?
Could it be that he had arranged spies to follow Trevor around?
“Why are you staring at me? The fact that Crystal could do such a thing only showed how much of a failure you are as a man and how you couldn‘t handle your woman well!” Christopher snorted.
Finally, Trevor lowered his gaze. “Who said she was my woman?”
This took Christopher by surprise. “Is she not? Have you not slept with her?“”
Then, he clicked his tongue. “Then, you‘re even more of a failure as a man. You have such a gorgeous superstar by your side, yet you can‘t even sleep with her. Is something wrong with you?”
The old man was ruthless as he spoke; he even went to the extent of saying all these.
The housekeeper let out a light cough to remind Christopher to watch his words. How could he insinuate that his grandson had specific performance issues?
Did he still want him to pass down the Batesons‘ family line?
This stunned Christopher as he turned to the housekeeper and said, “I don‘t think it‘s anything to hide. Maybe he just likes the way some people make him feel.”
Then, he sighed again. “It‘s a pity that there‘s no use in liking it. There‘s no next step to it.”
The old man‘s words showed no mercy and were like knives to Trevor‘s heart, one after the other.
In the face of Christopher‘s insinuations, Trevor was not annoyed at all.
Instead, he continued to eat gracefully and waited for Christopher to finish eating before Trevor said lighuy, “I have a proposal.”
This puzzled the old man. “What proposal”
He had already told her what he needed to say to her, and if she continued to go through guys like how she was doing, what could he do?
This riled up Christopher. “If you can‘t control your own sister, how can you control your ex–wife? How can you control your grandpa?”
At this point, Trevor was really at a loss for words.
Christopher‘s eloquence was really something else; Trevor was rendered speechless.
Out of desperation, he said, “Before you try to set her up, shouldn‘t you ask her first?”
“If she doesn‘t want to, and you force it on her, aren’t you just making her life difficult?”
Trevor was confident that Emma was reluctant to agree to Christopher‘s arrangement. Alas, she was so soft–hearted that she couldn‘t refuse him once he insisted.
“Of course, she wants to. She is willing to do it a million times,” Christopher simply answered.
Then, Trevor stared at the old man for a while before sharply saying, “You don‘t need to torture her like this to provoke me.”
“Who is trying to provoke you? Why should I do that? You don‘t even love her,” Christopher roared.
To be honest, it was indeed to provoke his grandson. However, another reason was that he hoped that Emma would find a good man to cherish her.
“As long as it is not a way to get back to me, I‘m fine.” Thus, Trevor gave Christopher a deep look before saying, “Let‘s eat, or the food will turn cold.”
LUL
After he said this, he picked up his chopsticks and began to eat the food on the table, enjoying them one mouthful after another.
On the other end, Christopher was dissatisfied with how calm Trevor was as he
shoved a few angry bites into his mouth.
This table filled with delicious food that he had prepared for himself would end up in that b*stard‘s stomach.
He felt he was about to lose in the fight of this psychological warfare with his grandson.
