Boyle cooked up a feast for dinner. He made scrambled eggs, sausages, grilled shrimps, cucumber salad and some soup.
It was a balanced and a very healthy meal.
The instant Cherie was done with her shower, Boyle called out for her while her hair was still wet.
Cherie was immediately greeted by a table full of her most favourite dishes when she sat by the dining table.
She grabbed her bowl and spoon and ate a spoonful of salad.
It was sweet and sour at the same time. It tasted very appetizing to her.
Boyle grabbed a towel, stood behind her and started drying her long wet hair while he watched her eat. He asked, "What do you think?"
"Hey Chef Lawson, could you make some eggplants with fish paste tomorrow?"
Boyle jokingly said, "Eggplants with fish paste? Do you want me to add some actual fish in it?"
Cherie curiously asked after taking a bite of scrambled eggs, "Why isn’t there any actual fish in a dish of eggplants and fishpaste?"
Boyle thought about a unique method of making the dish as he said, "I'll make one that has actual fish in it tomorrow."
Cherie was holding onto her bowl while she cracked a childish smile at Boyle as she said, "If you actually went ahead and opened a restaurant, you'd force a lot of well known chefs to close down and commit suicide. You know, the eggplant with fish paste dish in my house has actual fish in it. It's unlikely you'd mistake it for anything else."
Boyle grabbed the hairdryer and helped dry her hair as he replied with a slight chuckle, "The dish might actually go viral, you know."
After he was done drying her hair, Boyle sat down, put on some single-use gloves and started deshelling the shrimps for her.
He deshelled a lot of shrimps for her.
Cherie ate a plate full of shrimps while she drank some soup.
She was also forced to finish her food.
Boyle cleaned up the dining table and went ahead to do the dishes after dinner.
Just as Cherie was about to relax on the couch, her phone rang and it showed it was from Little Bean Sprout.
Cherie picked up the call and said, "Hello."
All Boyle could hear was her speaking on the phone. It seemed he had missed her phone ring but her phone seemed to be on silent mode.
While Boyle did the dishes, he glanced over toward the living room.
Someone close to her must have called her since she was chuckling gleefully.
After Boyle was done with the dishes, he walked over to her and asked, "Who were you talking to for such a long time?"
Cherie replied, "A kid that I've recently met."
"A kid?"
"Yeah, the kid that I saved from the recording studio."
Boyle recalled the accident that had happened at the recording studio. She had even gotten injured when some equipment fell on her head.
"Why would the kid even call you?"
Cherie replied, "Well, I felt connected to the kid and she even said that she wanted to come visit me in North City but I'm worried about her travelling all alone. Hence, I told her that I'd visit her with you at the capital when I'm free in a few days."
However, Cherie seemed a little hesitant as she said, "But the kid is terrified of strangers and you're very menacing to look at. I don't think you'd interact well with children. She'd no doubt be terrified of you."
Boyle raised his brows and did not deny what she said. He said, "Good point. Kids around my neighborhood will run at the sight of me back then."
The duo stopped talking about Little Bean Sprout after a brief moment as Boyle took a glance at the setting sun outside and said, "Let's take a stroll outside. It's not good for your stomach if you stay at home all day without moving around much, you know."
Cherie leaned back on the couch and refused to move but she was still dragged outside for a stroll by Boyle.
The evening breeze felt relaxing in Lake Street and it was an amazing spot for a stroll.
As the evening breeze blew, the green leaves could be seen fluttering about in the wind.
"Hello?"
Dr. Shania said, "I've already taken care of everything that I need before returning to the country. When exactly are you planning to send Cherie back to the hospital for her treatment? She has stopped her medication for a really long time now and if she continues like this, no one can be sure what exactly would happen to her."
Boyle was clutching his phone as he replied while squeezing his brows before taking a glance at the nearby woman, "She seems to be in quite the delightful mood with me recently."
Dr. Shania raised her brows and said, "That isn't exactly a good thing. Regardless, it'll be better for her to get everything checked in the hospital. Patients with severe depression can't stop their medications even if they're in a good mood."
"I don't have plans to bring her to the hospital yet."
Dr. Shania sighed and said, "You've poured in so much effort to get me back to the country, so much so that you're willing to pay me so much. I am now appointed as the chancellor of your hospital as well but now you're telling me that you're not going to bring Cherie over? Boyle, you're not someone to be this indecisive."
Boyle replied, "After some thorough consideration, I realized that sending her to the hospital is a little inappropriate. I don't want to see her locked up in a cage and be stabbed by needles like a mental health patient. Not to mention, I don't like seeing her being forcefully strapped to her bed."
Dr. Shania laughed as she said, "President Lawson, I suggest you proceed with absolute caution. She is undeniably a mental health patient now, not to mention that her condition isn't minor at all. I haven't assessed her condition for a really long time now and I can't say for certain if her condition had deteriorated or other symptoms had manifested itself or not. However, I will not be held responsible if she misses out on the best time frame for her treatment because of your refusal to cooperate."
Boyle exclaimed coldly, "You don't have to be responsible for anything. I will take full responsibility for her matters."
Dr. Shania was speechless as she gritted her teeth.
'God dammit! What a stubborn family she has!'
Dr. Shania held back her anger since he was still related to her patient and not to mention, held the biggest share for the hospital. Hence, she could not help but remind him, "President Lawson, I suggest you send her to the hospital as soon as possible. Although you think it's best that she isn't admitted to the hospital or receive any treatments but the truth is, she's been delaying her treatment for an extremely long time now. To be honest, her condition is very severe and it'll only be much worse for her if she decides to seek treatment in the future. Not to mention, the procedure will take longer too."
Boyle's gaze looked incredibly menacing as he bluntly said, "I'll think about it."
He sounded very impatient while the tone of his voice sounded incredibly cold.
He immediately hung up the call after that.
Dr. Shania was fuming when she heard the continuous beeping sounds.
Her main purpose for returning to the country from America was not because of the amazing offers Boyle gave her. Instead, she felt responsible as a doctor and she absolutely wanted to help treat Cherie's condition.
However, it turned out that Boyle was unwilling to cooperate.
