Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 887

Due to a mild concussion, Cherie stayed in the hospital for five days.

Boyle visited her regularly during this period. Like an enemy watching her every move, he forbade her from getting out of bed and moving around.

On the sixth day of hospitalization, Cherie’s phone rang. It was a call from Tyler.

As Boyle saw the incoming caller notification, he passed the phone to her out of courtesy.

Cherie took the phone from Boyle and answered the call.

It had been a long time since Tyler called her.

“Hello, Tyler.”

Tyler just landed at the airport. “Jelly Bean, I’ve returned to the country and I’m at the capital now. I remembered you telling me that you’re back here too. Are you at North City now?”

Cherie subconsciously glanced at Boyle before turning her body sideways. She then answered, “I’m not at North City. I’m at the capital too.”

Tyler was surprised. “Where are you? I’ll find you once I’ve unpacked my luggage.”

“I…”

Before she was able to answer Tyler, the man behind her snatched her phone away.

He answered Tyler on behalf of Cherie, “She’s in the hospital now. She can’t meet up with any friends as she needs to recuperate.”

Boyle then hung up the call immediately.

Cherie was utterly speechless.

She glared at him. “What are you doing?”

“He just wants to meet up and hang out with you. With your current condition, it’s inappropriate to do so.”

His argument was logical.

Cherie raised her brows. “I’m doing fine now. The doctor said that I can go home already.”

“Which doctor told you that? Tell me.”

He suddenly inched closer to her and his eyes were frightening.

If there were such irresponsible doctors around, he would be glad to fire the person.

“...”

Cherie did not know what to answer him. She pinched his hand and insisted, “Boyle, I must get discharged from the hospital today.”

She was forced to stay at the hospital for a few days and was kept an eye on as if she was a prisoner. She felt unhappy and suffocated.

Boyle stared at her indignant face and did not say a word.

A while later, he asked, “Why are you in such a hurry? Is it because of your childhood friend?”

“It’s none of your concern.” No matter who she was meeting, it was totally none of his business.

“What if I don’t agree to it?”

Cherie snickered. “You said you’ll treat me well no matter what it takes and you don’t care whether I will get back together with you or not. However, judging from what you’re doing now, you’re just forcing me to reconcile with you. Boyle, please don’t make empty promises if you can’t do it. I despise it when you do that.”

Her words pierced his heart like a dagger. He felt as if his heart was bleeding profusely.

Boyle knew that he owed her a lot and perhaps, no matter how hard he tried, he could never make it up to her for the rest of his life.

Seven years ago, he did not keep the promise of being together with her forever. He knew that from the start, it was entirely his fault.

Boyle had won in many trade wars but he would never win when it comes to her.

Cherie successfully got discharged from the hospital.

Boyle wanted to give her a ride but she was reluctant.

Calum glanced at his boss through the rear-view mirror and hesitantly asked, “Boss, should we follow Mrs. Lawson?”

Boyle stared at the frail figure and uttered, “Follow her.”

The black Maybach was kept at a distance from Cherie. Calum slowed down the car and cautiously followed her.

Boyle found himself foolish. He could not believe he was willing to send his woman to meet another man.

Cherie did not want to lie to him. She nodded and explained, “We met each other not long ago. I had a minor accident a few days ago and he offered me some help.”

Seven years ago, Cherie dropped out of university after the incident. Due to this, Tyler gave up on his place as an exchange student and ended up not going to the Capital City University.

Until now, he still feels guilty about what happened back then.

Everyone had become a grown-up after all these years. They would not talk about anything like how they used to when they were young. Being a grown-up denoted estrangement from the close ones.

Regardless of that, Tyler felt apologetic. “If I were to become an exchange student at the Capital City University way earlier, I would be there to protect you and you probably won’t have to go through all this pain.”

Cherie sighed. “It’s already in the past. Let’s not talk about it anymore.”

Tyler retracted his hand from the steering wheel and rubbed her head. He smiled and tried to lighten up the atmosphere. “Okay. Let’s not talk about the hurtful past. Now that I’m here, I’ll protect you with all my might. Let’s see who dares to bully you.”

Cherie turned her head and looked at him.

Tyler had become more matured and reserved over the seven years. Although sometimes he might still behave sloppily, he was unflustered and had a temperament of what a matured man should have most of the time.

Cherie looked out of the window and asked, “Where’re we going?”

His lips curved upwards. “Since you don’t look happy to me, I’ll bring you somewhere to cheer you up.”

Half an hour later, they arrived at an exclusive motorcycle club.

Tyler took a liking to the latest model of Harley and asked, “Cherie, what do you think about this motorcycle?”

Cherie did not have much interest in motorcycles. After taking a brief look at it, she answered, “It looks decent to me.”

The club manager politely asked, “Mr. Tyler, shall we get this then?”

Tyler stroked his chin and his gaze roamed over to the motorcycle. “Let’s get this then. Pass me the helmet.”

The manager handed two helmets to Tyler. Subsequently, Tyler took the pink helmet and put it on Cherie’s head.

Her eyes were wide open as she asked, “Are we riding that now?”

His lips curved upwards as he fastened the helmet on her head. “You shall experience what it means to be thrilled.”
