Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 869

It was ten minutes to two by the time Huntley arrived. However, he was brutally scolded by Whitney.

"Your best man is already here but you, the groom, just so happen to be the last person to arrive."

Huntley felt helpless as he explained, "It's not fair. Boyle’s literally living in North City and it only takes him twenty minutes to arrive from his office. Would I be able to rush all the way here from the capital in that amount of time?"

The couple bickered amongst themselves.

Boyle noticed Cherie drinking a cup of iced Americano alone at a corner.

Boyle said, "Iced Americano is actually quite harsh on your stomach."

Cherie ignored him and took another sip.

Boyle could no longer watch as he immediately snatched the cup of iced Americano away from her.

"... Boyle Lawson, don't you think you're being unreasonable right now?"

The staff was all speechless.

Boyle handed the cup of iced Americano to the staff in front of her and said, "Throw this away for me please."

Cherie and the staff were all still speechless.

Boyle stared intensely at her and said, "It'll be my business if it concerns you."

Cherie stood up and told Whitney, "I'm heading to the washroom."

"I'm going too, Cherie."

Huntley had entered the men's fitting room to try on his suit.

Cherie's phone that was placed on the coffee table started to ring at that moment.

Boyle had no intention of invading her privacy. However, her phone was constantly vibrating and the caller ID showed it was from Dr. Shania Jenn.

Boyle picked up the call because he was curious and worried about her.

He remained silent and waited for the other person to speak.

Shania said, "Are you doing better recently, Cherie? You've stopped your medication for quite some time now. Are you really okay?"

Medicine? What medicine?

Boyle frowned.

Upon noticing the silence, Shania said, "Hello? Cherie? Is the reception bad?"

Boyle hung up and was worried that he might slip up.

He switched on Cherie's phone and typed in her birthdate on her lock screen to unlock her phone. Boyle then went to her call log and deleted Dr. Shania's incoming call record.

He left no trace behind.

After that, he locked her phone and placed it in the same spot as she had earlier.

They spent the entire afternoon trying out wedding gowns.

Huntley hugged Whitney after they were done. He glanced at both Boyle and Cherie before saying, "It's been such a long time we actually got to hang out as old friends. Since it's about time for dinner, why don't I treat everyone to a meal?"

Cherie was not in the mood for anything so she said, "I'm sorry, Huntley. I can't join you because I still have other things to do."

Her excuse was simple and it was obvious that she had no intention of joining them.

Huntley who was mischievous in nature initially wanted to help those two mend their fractured relationship. However, he did not expect Cherie to be so cold. This made him feel a little sad.

However, Boyle could tell just how dejected and unmotivated she seemed, so he told Huntley, "You and Whitney can go ahead without me."

Huntley left hastily while hugging Whitney as he said, "Alright then. Remember to send Cherie home, Boyle!"

Whitney wanted to pull Huntley's hand off her. She glared at him and said, "What are you doing? Cherie didn't drive here. I need to send her home!"

"Oh, please, Boyle is there. You can't intervene even if you want to, alright? Be a good girl now. There's no need to add to their problems. Let's go back to your parent's place."

Whitney was the one who drove Cherie there.

Therefore, she was unable to drive home at the moment since she did not have a car.

However, she was in no mood to allow Boyle to send her home and said, "I'll call a cab home."

Boyle did not force her as he followed Cherie out to call a cab.

However, when her cab arrived and just as Cherie got in the car, Boyle entered from the other door.

Cherie asked, "... Why'd you get in for?"

"Shania Jenn. She's in the same program as you and shares the same intake batch as me."

Hank chuckled and said, "Small world indeed. Shania’s my junior. You know, there are very few people from back home in Harvard. I know everyone from our country in Harvard because we used to host all kinds of parties amongst our group back then. However, you need to tell me why you’re looking for her?"

Boyle replied, "I ran into someone I was extremely obsessed with all this time when I returned home. She might actually be one of Shania's patients though."

Hank's tone grew serious as he said, "So you want to get your ex-girlfriend's clinical records through Shania?"

"Yeah," Boyle replied without hesitation.

Hank hesitated for a brief moment and said, "Boyle, you know we have our code of ethics when it comes to our profession too. A licensed psychologist will never share their patient's records to anyone."

"I know but this is extremely important to me. Please help me, okay?'

Hank was stunned as he said, "Oh, boy. I've never seen you beg anyone like this before, Boyle. It seems to me that your ex-girlfriend really is your curse."

Boyle's gaze dimmed as he stared out into the moonlight and said, "Yeah. I've already given up my treatment because I'd rather live with this curse."

Hank sighed and said, "You are the first patient I can't treat. Not only that, you've become worse. However, I’ve failed you because you're also my friend."

"This has nothing to do with you. It's all on me. I'm willing to live with the consequences."

Hank had no choice as he said, "Fine. I'll just give you her number. You can tell her that you're my friend and she’ll help you."

"Thanks."

Hank chuckled and said, "Please, I'm unworthy of your gratitude. Just invest more money into my clinic."

Boyle agreed without hesitation.

Boyle found it difficult to fall asleep in the middle of the night so he contacted Shania.

After some pointless small talks and introductions, Boyle suggested that they meet up.

Shania said, "Mr. Lawson, I respect you because you're Hank's friend but what you want me to do goes completely against my code of ethics. Don't you think you're being unreasonable?"

"I know I am but I have no other options left. It's fine if you're unwilling to tell me because I know where you currently work at. I can become the hospital's largest shareholder and I believe I’d be able to look through any hospital records then as a shareholder of the hospital."

Shania was speechless.

She wondered just what kind of a complete weirdo Boyle was since he seemed like an extremely powerful man to make such claims.
