Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 856

New York, seven years later.

This was an international solo philharmonic piano performance.

The event was fully booked in the music hall.

The audience were quiet before the beautiful melody from the piano filled the entire hall from the stage.

Only a single ray of light could be seen in the music hall. It was illuminating a silhouette of a person playing the piano on stage.

The young woman was hammering the black and white keys of the piano elegantly. The way she played looked as if a butterfly was fluttering its wings as it danced across the keys while the beautiful melody of the song, 'The blue Danube' came out of her fingertips.

A very eye-catchingly handsome man was sitting amongst the VIP guest seats.

The young man seemed to be in his early thirties. He looked incredibly stunning and elegant while every inch of his body was reeking elegance of a very high-profile businessman. He seemed coldly menacing but whenever he looked at the figure on stage playing the piano, his gaze somehow seemed gentle and passionate.

Boyle was sitting below the stage while his hands were casually placed on his knees as he focused intensely on the performance.

This was her tenth performance. He was never once absent to any of her performances.

Boyle thought to himself that his woman had all grown up.

Words would do no justice to describe how beautiful she looked when the light illuminated her.

Calum Holmes who was sitting next to Boyle had just received a very important phone call and excused himself from the hall earlier.

Calum whispered into Boyle's ear, "President Lawson, the representatives of Marks Group had already arrived at our company. You are still required to be present to discuss the finer details of the acquisition."

It seemed that Calum was implying that the acquisition with Marks Group was more important than this concert.

That was because his boss listened to similar concerts like these every month, so much so that he would fly all around the world to listen to the concerts.

Calum could not understand how could his boss be so captivated by something as boring as a piano philharmonic performance.

However, Calum failed to realize that the performance his boss always went to was all related to the female pianist performing on stage.

The venue of each performance would change however, the only thing that was always constant was the performer on stage.

Boyle's gaze had never once left that silhouette on stage. The corner of his gaze felt cold as he exclaimed, "Let's not talk about business when we're here for a concert."

Calum immediately shut up.

He had been with his boss for three years. He understood Boyle's temperament and habits to a certain degree.

It seemed President Lawson disliked showing much emotion and he was extremely cold but very decisive. He was ruthless and very intimidating.

He sounded subtly furious from his tone earlier.

Hence, Calum sat beside his boss and finished listening to the performance in silence.

After the performance was done, the pianist stood up and gave an elegant bow before the curtains were drawn.

The audience had all started to leave. However, Boyle was still sitting in his seat. It seemed like he was still lost in the performance.

Calum dared not speak up. However, he was having an internal panic attack and thought to himself, 'There is still an acquisition worth more than a couple billion bucks waiting for him to work out the finer details. However, he is wasting so much of his precious time away.'

That was right, every second of Boyle's time was extremely precious.

However, it seemed like his boss enjoyed wasting time on piano performances and meaningless festivities like Christmas or other events.

Finally, Boyle stood up from his seat.

Just as Calum was about to talk to Boyle about the acquisition, Boyle calmly told him, "Pre book the ticket for the next show in London and cancel all plans on that day."

Calum thought to himself, 'Has... this man gone mad from watching these performances?'

"Yes, boss."

Boyle instinctively turned to look back when he was walking out of the theater. He stared past the crowd and landed on that familiar slender little silhouette with a gentle gaze.

Boyle lowered his gaze when that silhouette turned around. He turned around and exited the theater with the crowd.

He had yearned and missed her for a very long time now.

It did not matter if he was standing in her blindspot since it pleased him when he was only standing and watching her from a distance.

She pulled the covers over herself and went to sleep after she said that.

There were only two things she did in the last seven years and they were playing the piano and sleeping. She did not exactly have much of a social life and had become a severe introvert. She was no longer as playful as she once was.

Heaton, Verian and Harrison came over to visit her last year.

They all agreed to have her be their tour guide around the city for their family. However, the instant they stepped out of her house, she was completely clueless to any fun places or delicious food around the area. In the end, Harrison had to go online and search for tourist spots.

In the seven years she lived in Philadelphia, she was completely clueless to any delicious cuisines or tourist attractions in her city. This showed how much of a recluse she had become.

Both Heaton and Verian noticed how lonely she was in Philadelphia so they wanted her to return to North City.

It was not like she could not have a career back in her country anyway.

She had nothing to worry about with the backing of Fudd Group to kick start her career in her country.

Her grandfather was getting older and often nagged about missing her. Perhaps it was about time for her to return home now.

Cherie stared at the scenery outside the window while the car continued to drive. She said, "Wendy, don't arrange any plans for me after this show. I want to return home to my country."

She had never told Wendy about her plans so Wendy was a little shocked as she asked, "Why so sudden? What are we going to do about the shows we've already arranged?"

Cherie closed her eyes without much emotion. She said in a calm voice, "Cancel them. I'm tired."

Wendy thought to herself, 'Whoa, this woman truly has no end to her wealth since she can cancel her shows on a whim.'

She actually really missed home now.

She was rarely home in the last seven years.

It seemed she had completely shut herself off from the world as she no longer paid any attention to whatever that had happened back home or with that person. She ignored everything.

It seemed she had also rarely spoken to her best friend Whitney in the last seven years.

She was afraid that Whitney might unintentionally bring up that person.

She did not wish to listen to anything about him because she would feel sad.
