Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 841

Boyle carried his luggage and hopped into a cab.

The driver asked, “Young man, where do you want to go?”

A trace of loneliness flashed across his eyes. He answered impassively, “I haven’t thought of that yet. You can drive aimlessly and I’ll let you know my destination later.”

The driver chuckled. He figured that Boyle had just broken up with his girlfriend and hence was not in a good mood. “Alright then. Just let me know when you do.”

Boyle glanced at his phone. He received multiple messages from Rie, and the most important one among them was that she missed him.

Boyle wanted to reply to her, saying that he missed her too.

However, he was not in the mood to reply to her.

He gradually closed his eyes and leaned his back against the car seat. Feeling downcast, he thought to himself, ‘Alright. If Hanson wants to cling onto him, let him be. I have a lot of time to squander away with him.’

The person who should be living in fear was Hanson. After all, he was getting older.

The person who should be living in fear would never be Boyle.

In Shallow Bay Mansion in North City.

Heaton received an email from Kush regarding Boyle’s personal information.

“Boyle Lawson. Male. Twenty-five this year. A citizen of North City and he’s a third-year postgraduate student from Capital University…”

As Heaton skimmed through the insignificant information, his eyes fixated on the name written under Boyle’s biological father column.

“Hanson Lawson.”

This name sounded familiar.

He then scrolled down a bit.

Hanson Lawson. He was sentenced to eight years of prison as he was convicted of kidnapping a ten-year-old girl eight years ago. He was released from prison just recently.

Heaton’s gaze darkened and suddenly, a surge of emotions swept through him.

At this moment, Verian came into the room with a cup of coffee. “Heaton, the coffee is ready.”

She walked toward him and placed the cup of coffee on the table. She furrowed her brows as she noticed Heaton was a little stiff. She called out, “Heaton? Are you okay?”

Heaton came to his senses and his solemn gaze roved over her face. “Are you sure that the boy who is dating Jelly Bean is called Boyle Lawson?”

“Yeah, that’s what she told me. Oh right, he’s a citizen of North City too.”

The information Heaton received was indeed correct.

As Heaton’s expression was cold, Verian asked, “Is there anything? Did you find something bad about Boyle?”

“No. He’s doing fine. The one with the problem is his father.”

Verian frowned. “What’s wrong with his father?”

“Do you still remember Jelly Bean’s kidnapping incident that happened when she was ten?”

“Of course I do. But what does this have to do with Boyle’s father?”

Heaton creased his brows. “Boyle’s biological father is Hanson. He was the kidnapper who blackmailed us eight years ago. He just got out of the prison not long ago.”

Verian was shocked and her face went ghastly pale.

That summer would forever be etched in her mind. At that time, Little Jelly Bean was about to have her tenth birthday. However, she was kidnapped after school and the opposition demanded five million.

Five million was affordable for the Fudd Family. It was more than enough in exchange for Little Jelly Bean’s safety.

In the end, it was just a false alarm. They managed to rescue Little Jelly Bean and the kidnapper was arrested by the police. After an intense interrogation, there was no one behind the curtain and the kidnapper merely took an interest in the money the Fudd Family had.

Little Jelly Bean was not injured. As the crime he committed was not severe, he was sentenced to eight years of prison.

For Jelly Bean to be in a relationship with the kidnapper’s son and the victim who got kidnapped was none other than her, how could Heaton and Verian agree to their relationship and be at ease?

“Should we tell Jelly Bean about this?”

“Boyle, you better be cautious and aware of your old man in your house. He’s so thick-skinned and perhaps, he might get to the media and tell them how ungrateful you are to not support your parents and probably act pitifully in front of them. If he does, it will cause damage to your reputation.”

“Let him be then. It will be great if I lose my job because of him. With that, he can’t take advantage of me anymore.”

Huntley was startled for a moment. “If you do that, it’ll be a double-edged sword for both sides.”

However, after deliberation, Huntley realized that there were no better ways of solving this problem if Boyle did not do so.

After all, if Hanson was his father, would he financially support him, knowing that Hanson would only cause trouble to him? Definitely not. He would rather kill him.

An hour later, Hanson obtained a loudspeaker from somewhere and started shouting outside the law firm again.

“Everyone who passes by, please listen to me. I’ve done something wrong eight years ago and was sentenced to a few years in jail. It was my fault and due to that, my son is ashamed of my presence. I am truly remorseful for the bad things I’ve done in the past.

“And now, after being released from jail, I’m more than excited to meet my son and wish to live and take care of him, hoping that I can be forgiven. I know that as a father, I didn’t set a good example for him and I’m truly ashamed of that.

“I am beyond happy and proud of my son who has become a lawyer now. I took the train to the capital to find him and hoped to turn over a new leaf in this city. However, he is perhaps disgusted by his ex-convict father and treated me with contempt by cutting off the house power and water supply.

“I know I’m unworthy to ask for his forgiveness but I have nowhere else to go. I just wish to meet my son but he doesn’t even want to see me.”

Hanson’s pitiful act had attracted many passersby.

“This old man is so pitiful. His son is such a snobbish person.”

“His son is cold-hearted. It’s normal to make a mistake when he’s young. They’re father and son after all.”

“I can’t believe there are still people chasing elders out of the house to live on the streets nowadays.”

“His son is so ungrateful. How can he be a lawyer?”

Hanson successfully won the sympathy of many passersby. Some onlookers even recorded the scene and posted it online.

After being reposted on many social media platforms, this news soon became a heated discussion of the public and a hot-trending search online.
