Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 710

After Ruby hid the cake, she excitedly rushed out of the kitchen. She immediately noticed Blaine walking upstairs into his study with a bitter look on his face.

Ruby could not help but ask Old K, “What’s wrong with your boss?”

Old K pouted his lips and said, “Miss Softie, if there’s nothing, please try not to provoke Master Blaine today.”

The corners of Ruby’s lips twitched as she spoke in a casual tone, “... Since when have I provoked him? You’re saying as if I have a tendency of provoking him all the time.”

She had even personally baked him a cake today just to grow closer to him. She truly went the full mile on this.

“So… what’s wrong with Blaine?”

Old K held his tongue as he said, “Miss Softie, this is Master Blaine’s secret and I, as his subordinate shouldn’t say anything… It’ll be better if you ask him yourself.”

Ruby did not look for Blaine immediately after Old K left. She only went to Blaine’s study to call him down for dinner when it was time.

“Time for dinner, Blaine.”

Blaine did not look up as he was buried in his work. He merely replied to her with a soft tone, “Don’t worry about me, you can eat first.”

Ruby scoffed and did not leave. She walked over to him and said, “Blaine, it’s not fair for me if you treat me this way. Blaine, you told me that I have to eat dinner with you but when I really want you to share dinner with me tonight, you don’t want to. Sigh, it seems I’m really only your pet, Blaine.”

Ruby intentionally let out a really long winded sigh before sitting down at a nearby couch as she rested her chin on both her slender hands while staring at Blaine with a sincere and innocent gaze. She was staring directly at him and her beady eyes looked very pure.

Blaine was stunned after listening to her statement. He then put his steel pen down and looked up to stare at the woman nearby.

Ruby continued, “I, your pet, have to come to you immediately whenever you need me, Blaine but all I can do is count ants whenever you don’t.”

Perhaps she was afraid of being starved as a child so it would be very easy to satisfy her when she was much older now. It would make her very happy if she was able to be full from a meal so not much could really bother her.

The only troubles she would be bothered by the career she chose would be staying alive and all of the other problems would be nothing more than an afterthought for her. Everything would be a minor problem in comparison to starving and her safety.

After Ruby dragged Blaine downstairs, Blaine was surprisingly not angry and seemed to be behaving normally as the both of them sat across each other while they ate.

Ruby suddenly said halfway through the meal, “Carry on eating, Blaine. I need to use the washroom.”

After that, Ruby rushed to the kitchen and brought out a cake from the fridge with Aunt Heather.

“Aunt Heather, shut the lights and light the candles.”

“Alright, Miss Softie.”
