Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 706

Ruby exited the phonebooth after she was done with her mission. She noticed someone was following her while she was walking on the main street. She assumed it was most likely someone sent by Blaine.

She initially intended to return to the Kingswood Mansion after she was done with her mission, however, in order to commit the ‘perfect crime’, Ruby decided to head over to the largest and most luxurious mall in all of Glacier City.

Ruby used a spare card Blaine gave her to buy a bunch of luxury items after walking around the mall.

Somehow, Ruby actually felt guilty and disgusted with herself after spending so much of Blaine’s money in addition to selling him out since they spent a significant amount of time together.

… However, the method in which she used to make up for her misdeeds was to buy Blaine a gift with his money.

Ruby picked a tie as Blaine’s gift from a counter in a luxury goods store.

“I’ll be taking this tie so could you please wrap this up for me?”

“Will do, miss.”

Just as the staff was about to grab the tie from the mannequin, a woman’s voice could be heard coming from behind.

“Hold on a second.”

Both Ruby and the staff turned around at the same time. They noticed Holly who was dressed in a mini-skirt with the latest design while carrying an extremely expensive limited edition Hermes bag. She was standing behind them.

The Reed family happened to be one of the stockholders of this high-end mall.

Holly on the other hand was the famous and most respected princess of R Country.

It was only natural for these staff to instantly recognize Holly when they were so used to integrating themselves in the social circle of the wealthy and the elites.

Not to mention, Holly was known to be very high-profile when she was out shopping. Thus, even if she was not instantly recognized, the entourage of more than ten bodyguards in black suits would draw plenty of attention.

The staff approached her with a huge smile as she said, “Please have a seat, Princess Holly. Our establishment has just received a batch of clothes from the latest fashion trend and it will suit you perfectly well. I’ll grab it for you and let you take a look?”

The staff ordered another staff member to pour a glass of water while tending to Holly’s needs.

Holly gestured at them and did not sit down on the pure leather couch while her gaze was completely focused on Ruby who was silent the entire time.

Holly pointed at the men’s tie in Ruby’s hand as she ordered, “I want the tie she’s holding now.”

The staff was stunned as she stuttered, “But…”

Holly glared at her coldly the instant the staff muttered the word, ‘but’ as she exclaimed, “But what? She can choose a different design since there are so many different ties here.”

The staff immediately agreed as she said, “Yes, yes indeed. You have a fair point, princess.”

She could not afford to cross the princess of R Country and besides a regular customer like Ruby seemed like a complete nobody anyway.

The staff’s demeanor immediately changed as she spoke to Ruby in a cold yet polite tone, “Miss, please take a look at our other designs. The princess happens to fancy this particular design of the tie.”

Ruby took a glance at Holly while holding onto the tie. She scoffed before saying, “Even if you’re the princess, the thing is, I saw this tie first so why should I give it to you?”

Holly furiously exclaimed, “I’ll buy this tie from you, ten times its original price.”

The instant the staff heard the princess forking out so much money, she immediately told Ruby in a very commanding tone, “Please give me the tie, miss. It was the princess who spotted this tie first.”

Ruby scoffed as she took a judgmental glance at them before speaking with a smile, “The wealthy truly can do whatever they want. Heck, even an actual reason can be twisted. You know, initially, I was going to let you have this tie but your attitude is just too... horrible, princess. If you’re willing to humble yourself and beg me for it, perhaps I’d be willing to let you have it.”

Her statement had completely infuriated the princess. Holly had never begged anyone as a noble princess so it would be impossible to beg her romantic rival, Ruby for it.

Since Holly basically grew up with a golden spoon in her mouth and her social status was beyond sacred, not a single person dared ignore her like this since even Blaine would have to show her some respect. However, this woman of completely unknown origin and name was actually bold enough to treat her like this.

“Hold it right there, Softie!”

Ruby ignored her and continued walking forward as Holly caught up to her, reached out and was about to slap her.

However, Ruby’s reflexes were faster than her as she caught Holly’s wrist midair as she said, “So, the most respected princess of R Country behaves this way? You’re no different than a mindless dog.”

“Who are you calling a dog!”

“The person who asks.”

Holly’s little face was flustered from being extremely agitated as she exclaimed, “You! Let go of me!”

Ruby flung her wrist away coldly as she said, “A good dog will not stand in anyone’s way. If you want to keep standing in my way, dear princess, I won’t mind asking Blaine’s men to come over and take care of this situation.”

Holly’s fists were turning pale from being clenched so tightly as she was fuming while she glared at Ruby. She persisted in standing in her way and did not seem willing to move away.

Dark Shadow let out a gentle cough and said as he broke the tension, “Master Blaine is furious at the moment, dear princess. If Miss Holly returns home later and is unable to make it in time for dinner, I’m afraid Master Blaine might…”

Holly gulped. No matter how bold she was, she dared not cross Blaine.

Although she felt incredibly dissatisfied and unwilling, she was forced to move away.

Ruby was not an easy person to be trifled with as well. She whispered into Holly’s ear in a provoking tone when she walked by her, “I’ll be on my way now, dear princess. I need to head home to have dinner with Blaine.”

Holly teared up from being so agitated as she held back her tears and almost broke her lips from biting too hard.
